I am Arethusa Atticus. Here is my story:

Born as a werewolf, Arethusa Atticus made the best of it. She was a wolf at heart. Loyal, protective, mothering nature, it was all there. She understood the actions of her race. Never once did she question her orders. Though, her heart ached. She would have stopped the fighting long ago, but it wasn't and is not her place. That one night changed everything she ever knew. The night she saw a human child being killed. Arethusa's heart broke that evening. It was her fault that it happened. If she hadn't chased those vampires, injured them. They wouldn't have wanted to feed to regain the blood they lost. Arethusa wasn't fast enough to stop the attack on the human child. She herself was a soon to be mother, but miscarriage a week after the heart numbing attack.

Arethusa threw herself into her job, put down any who wish to harm her race. However, some in her race deserved to die in her eyes. They had no honor, or loyalty. It wasn't her position to decide whether or not these fiends still breathed. Therefore, she left it alone. Stayed to herself, and ignored her own races simple pleasures. Arethusa no longer howled at the mother moon, nor did she like hunting. It seemed all life had left her. Though, one person might be able to bring it back.
