It is the 61st year of the Galactic Senatorial Federation, and things are not looking good. Thirteen years have past since Humans first came into contact with the first known Alien race, The Gynt Empire. When astronomers discovered a new planet capable of supporting life, the Federation immediately sent explorers to scout the new world. However the world was already peopled by the Gynt Empire. When they saw the approaching Federation Battleship they perceived it as a threat, they attacked and declared war on the Federation. Too much was happening too soon, the Gynt were too much for the Federation. Initial fighting lasted for 3 months; the Federation was slowly being pushed back. After 2 years, when all hope seemed lost, General Tak Kavaar managed to win the battle of the planet Naan Shaa. It was the turning point of the war, the Federation began to win more and more victories. After 10 more years of fighting, both sides were at a stalemate.
In the Federation Military, there is an elite order of soldiers trained specifically to act separately of the Federation Army. This order is known as the Ideji Order (codename "The IO" wink . In times of peace they act as peace keepers and maintain order throughout the Federation. In times of war each Ideji member (codename "IM" wink is assigned a company of 140 men and are given freedom to act as they see fit.
However, in the war against the Gynt Empire, the Federation Senate has "temporarily" abolished these freedoms, and now has complete authority over the Ideji Order. Naturally this has created tension between the Senate and the Ideji Order.
The Ideji Order:
IM's are the elite, the best of the best. Every year the academy takes 100 students, and every year only 5 graduate. As a graduation gift, an Ideji is given his most trusted weapon, a Light Saber. Ideji are trained to use all weapons, but mostly use only the Saber. In the order there are honors. Honors are gained through acts of courage and valor. the first honor you get is a Senatorial Guard Helmet. This symbolizes that the Senate has recognized your skill and thank you for your deeds. The next honor is the Warriors Cloak. This symbolizes that you are recognized as a true leader. The final and greatest of Honors to receive, is the Steel Headband of the Ideji Order. This can only be gained after you have already received the cloak and helmet, and have stayed in service for over 3 years. Once a member is given the Headband, he is considered a master of the Ideji Order and is directly connected to the Senate.
The Galactic Senatorial Federation:
The Galactic Federation itself was founded over 5,000 years ago; however the Senate wasn't formed until 61 years ago. The reason for this was simple. Within the last 100 years, small uprisings were beginning to crop up from time to time. Eventually one of these uprisings got out of control. In an effort to calm a small riot, a soldier accidentally shot a small boy. Although the boy survived the action infuriated the mob and eventually an entire Garrison had to be deployed to stop the fighting. After the incident, the higher ups believed it was time to lessen their grip on the citizens of the Federation. So the Senate was formed for that reason, making the Galactic Federation the Galactic Senatorial Federation. At first people believed the system was working, but then Mankind made contact with The Gynt. After that, everything went downhill.
With the ongoing conflict between man and the Gynt, people are starting to wonder if the Senate is even worth fighting for anymore. Unknown to the peoples of the Federation however, an inside plot to violently overthrow the Senate is underway.
