Chapter 1: Problem/Solution.


Hello!, my name is Mia. i am 13, and i dream to be a mangaka!. only one problem...., i am really good at art!, i have always been the best in school, and i have been going to art classes since i was 7, so it's really is the best career path for me!. and i always have a lot of fun with it, it's just... when it comes to the story line..., well i have a awful case of writers block..., actually it's been this way since 2nd grade, it's probably because the class laughed at my story.. only it wasn't a comedy..., they ment no harm, actually i think they thought it was a comedy..., -it was my 1st tragedy story-... grrr it still gets me mad!.., ok so im bitter, but this isn't the problem!. i seriously have gotta fix this!
actually just yesterday my friend noticed i hadn't given up yet...
'May 12th 12:13pm, school caf.'
"hey mia!"
" wah?, huh?.."
"have you been listening to me?!"
"no..."
"gawd mia!, your hopeless..."
this is my friend Alice, we've been best friends since 1st grade -of course she's the only one who didn't laugh at my comedy/tragedy.., she gave up after 3rd grade and a year of trying to get me to write, i guess she just can't get the fealing of writers block..., but at least she understands im going through a hard time.
"sorry Alice, i've been thinking about my manga again.."
"ah! you're still trying?!"
"sheesh you sound shocked, what loving friends i have..."
"ahahaha!, im just kidding Mia, i've noticed it long ago!"
"oh you have?, really then why didn't you bother to help sooner?"
"ehe.. well that is... i wanted to avoid the subject..."
"ah well, i won't force you to help... not that you can do much.."
"wow Mia, so loving. actually it turns out i did so some research!"
"you mean you had Katie do it for you?.."
Katie is Alice's "Disciple" self proclamed..., for whatever reason she's takin a liking to Alice, and will do "Anything" for her.., Alice isn't the type to use people, she does call on favors from her alot, but when it comes to Katie, Alice will defende her till the end, though she'll never admit it, she's contint with the whole "im just using her" thing
"aww come on!, i helped..some.."
"ha!, whatever just tell me What'Cha got!"
"well since you wanna know, SOOO badly i'll tell ya!"
with her Matter'O'Fact attitude for whatever reason she put it on...
"come on, just spit it out!"
"ok, so I talked to..err Katie* Talked to her old language teacher-"
i stopped her
"you mean the "impossible to get in contact with, has 4 best selling books" teacher?!"
i couldn't hide my surprise, Jerry (old language teacher) was a hard man to get a hold of!, ever since he got his 1st book published he got this "im better then you punks" kinda attitude, didn't matter to me, i never liked the guy, he always threw chalk at me, and called on me for sleeping. wasn't my fault he was so boring, believe me i liked language! he proved me wrong on the whole "language can't be boring" (quote from 1st grade) thing...
"yes!, Katie's dad's got his record from when he taught here, and then did some investigating, i sware that girl's gonna be a detective when she's older!"
that wasn't an understatement, with her father as the middle school districts principle, and her investigating skills, she could find anyone who filled there name out on a paper, (even if just for fun...) that girl is scary...
"anyway whats ol'teach got to say bout my problem?"
i half didn't wanna know the answer...
"well since Jerry seems to hate you, Katie never said who is was with the problem"
thank god!
"but he says you need inspiration!"
no! i never would have thought of that!, sheesh it's hard to believe this man could publish 4 best selling books
"well.. anyway to find that inspiration?...."
"hmm, he said he gets his inspiration from things that happen in real life, and people he meets, sometimes even history helps"
"hmm, well that is some good advice"
best i was getting anyway...
"ok, any ideas?"
"hehe, thats the good part, i though we would try with the history one, seeing as your life couldn't get anymore boring.."
"thanks..."
"haha, anyway you know that old haunted house in the woods behind your house?"
oh gawd!, Alice is always doing "tests of courage" and loved horror movies, i on the other hand, hate that stuff!
"i won't be able to get any inspiration while im crying!"
"haha, don't worry, it's not what you thing. sure it's got some ol tales, but i hear some famous war'vet lived there"
"well that sounds ok...."
i mean how bad could it be, really?....
"ok then!, i'll meet you at the woods tomorrow at 6pm sharp!"
"w-waite why so late?, it'll be dark by the time we get there!"
"hehehe, see ya there!"
she blew a kiss and ran off while i suddenly regreted ever asking for her help..
