In the depths of the Shadowfell a young gathering of like-minded Shadar-kai makes their home. A place known to them as "Ghesh." There they secretly practice something aside from the rest of their race, potent arcane rituals that tear the fabric of their world. The reasoning is not malicious in any way, they are as the rest of their race: truly neutral, albeit a morbid streak. Their reasoning is something that plagues more than their race; wanderlust. Like the rest of the Shadar-kai, the "Ghesh" have no unifying governmental system, and rule through a strict power system. Skill and experience signify everything, and the only real difference between them and other Shadar-kai is their intense wanderlust- one so intense it drives them into other planes and worlds.

Raska Ghesh is the 23rd descendant of her specific family, and although she didn't know her ancestors, she knows her destiny. Bound by the belief of the Raven Queen, and the tradition the Ghesh have adopted, when Raska turned 23 years of age, she crossed over to the material plane. From her time in the Shadowfell she became quite a skilled user of chained weapons, preferably the Scourge. The weapon being common to her people, it was more than likely for her to be proficient with it, but oddly enough, it was the bow Raska found a particular mastery in. Where as most of her people delivered the swift talons of the Raven Queen on the end of a barbed chain, Raska found it just as appropriate to let it fly on the winds of her ruling goddess.

Raska's goal in life is a simple one, and very similar to the rest of her people: to serve her Goddess at any opportunity, to achieve greatness through her deeds but stay humble, and then to meet death as was intended for all creatures. As her Goddess teaches, Raska goes out of her way to banish the cults of Orcus, and the undead, but unlike the rest of her Shadar-kai brethren, she does not center her life around this. Raska leads her life according to the latter mentioned predestination, and takes all the necessary measures in between to meet them.
