The Dream
I was somewhat distraught, my hair was messier than normal, and my eyes were red as if I had been crying. The reason for my state of distress, I'll never know, but I was obviously so out of it I missed several appointments.

My phone buzzed incessantly, but I didn't answer once, though it did annoy me some. It was obviously questions about the appointments I had refused to attend. I sighed, sitting by myself in a chair. I was dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, so I assumed I had been like this for some time. I moped about the house lazily, but I always seemed to return to that chair.

Days seemed to pass, and I was still in that weepy state. My accommodations seemed to be an apartment of some sort; one I had never laid eyes on before. It was clean though, cheery and presentable, so I knew it couldn't have been mine, and if it was, I must have had maids...

That aside, though it was a spacious apartment, with plenty of other places for me to pity myself, I stuck with that chair. Then, just when I had given up all hope of ever leaving that lonesome spot, a doorbell rang.

I assumed it was mine, seeing as I was alone in an apartment, so I walked up to the door.

"Who is it?" I called out, half expecting to hear my mother's voice. But to all surprise it wasn't.

It was a male voice, somewhat low, but definitely distinct enough for me to recognize the tone.

My heart skipped. I hadn't expected this to happen, and here I was, a complete mess. I dashed away from the door, but not without hollering a welcome to him, and jumped into the bathroom. Throwing on whatever decent outfit I had in that unknown closet, I quickly brushed my hair and dashed back into the hallway.

I suddenly felt rather rejuvenated seeing the person I deeply care about stand there. He didn't look much different than he did now, but neither did I, so my judgment that this was the future was unclear. But I was extremely happy to see him all the same.

I wrapped him in a hug and he stiffly returned it, but I had not noticed. I was just relieved I wasn't alone anymore. That whatever was burdening me was released. We sat, this time not in that dreaded chair, but on the couches in the living room to chat.

He asked me where I had been, and I simply answered that I had been home. He nodded, but I could see he wasn't satisfied with my answer.

"My phone has been off the hook this whole time. Everyone must be hysteric." I sighed, and suddenly his face turned grim.

"Diamond," he whispered over to me, "No one has noticed I'm afraid."

I paused, not sure if I wanted to believe that.

"B-but my phone..." I managed to stutter, but he interrupted.

"I was worried, it was me."

Silence filled the room and it was overbearing. That sudden sadness filled me again, my world seemed to be dark and I felt myself near to tears. Then something seemed to draw me out.

"You called me so many times, because you were worried?" I asked, seeing if I recalled correctly.

His face flushed slightly but he nodded; I smiled weakly. So someone really did care?

I hadn't had much time to contemplate it, because the very next moment my mind was swept up in this mind-blowing kiss, and seconds later I was left breathless.

I can't really tell you what happened next because my sister woke me up. I had this dream a couple nights ago and somewhat asked me about it, but I refused to tell, so here it is anyway. Oh, and the stranger remains nameless... He already knows who he is...
