Twas the day where it first began. The once ‘princess’ had suddenly become a Queen on the day her family was buried. Everyone had worn black and most had mourned…then there was the princess herself. Not a single droplet of water fell from her eyes, in fact…she’d almost glared at her families bodies as they were placed one by one into caskets. After that, the coronation occurred and the blonde princess became reclusive. Choosing not even to attend her own school and instead remaining within the castle, not making a single appearance as her predecessors did. Weeks had passed and the ‘gang’ of children had become somewhat used to one another but throughout the days, Eden had becoming increasingly troubled by her friend’s disappearance. So one night, unbeknownst to Cice and the others. She snuck out and rushed off to the castle.
Carefully dodging guards and watchmen, the innocent pink haired girl made a mad dash for Yadra’s room. After sneaking through hallways and hiding behind a few curtains, finally she’d made it to the familiar door. It was unguarded but locked and with magic as well. ‘Crud…I should’ve brought one of the others with me…they could undo this with ease…’ she thought, her ears falling in disappointment. Leaning on the door, perhaps hoping to hear something her body trembled as it did when she’d seen the incident with Seif. In her eyes in a vision of black and white was Yadra, sitting in front of a desk, slamming her fists onto the hard surface. “Dammit!! It’s not going fast enough!! I have to figure out a way where my plan can work without those idiots figuring me out! There must be…” she quickly scanned through books and papers Eden was not able to see then a smile appeared. “This…this…this might just work! But…first…I must find it. I must find it before anyone else does! I must find that treasure…” she whispered. Immediately Eden’s vision stopped as she collapsed from the door. Never before had she experienced something like that. “Tre-asure? What does Lady Yadra want with treasure? She’s already rich…isn’t she? I don’t understand…” After sneaking back out again and returning to the school, she was caught by the boys. “Where were you?” asked Cice. Eden smiled and gave a bow, “I’m sorry…I had to go to the bathroom and then I was thirsty so I got a drink.” Shay and Seif looked at each other and back to Eden, “And who’s going to believe that?” they said together. She turned a bright shade of pink, matching her hair. “Gah! I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I-I-I just wanted to see Yadra…I-I missed her…” Shay smiled and patted the girl on the head. “There’s nothing wrong with that but..if you were caught you could’ve ended up into a lot of trouble.” He explained. Cicerio still had a serious look on his face. “What’s with you?” Seif asked while Shay-ron spun Eden around in amusement. “Did you manage to…see her?” he asked finally. Shay stopped and placed Eden down so that she would answer. “Well…it was…odd….” “Odd? How so?” wondered Seif. “The door…it was locked so I touched and…I-I-I t-think I saw what she was doing without opening it…” All three gasped and immediately got in close. “Then what?” they asked together. After explaining her strange incident with the others all of them were silent. “Oi brat, you…know what’s going on?” Seif asked. The elf child sat down for a moment before speaking once more. “A long, long, long time ago…back when I was very small…I heard tale of a species that could do this.” Shay snapped his fingers,”Oh yea! I remember too!!! They lived on that isle in the middle of the ocean yea?” Cice nodded, ”Indeed, they were the only neutral beings on this side of the country...and they kept that by providing information. But once people found out they were giving their vision information to both sides…they land was burnt and everyone killed. After that, the land sank to the sea, there were no survivors but…this girl unmistakably has their features and abilities…that’s why I knew I’d ‘recognized’ her.” He explained. Eden pointed at herself,”Me? Special? Visions? That’s impossible; I’ve been with Papa all my life!” “Hm…you’re right, and that incident happened hundreds of years ago and you certainly wouldn’t be alive, not with magic and technology combined…maybe you’re just a regular demon who got a Seer gene…if that’s the case you’re extremely lucky. There’s almost a .00000000000001 chance of that happening.” He nodded. Of course Eden hadn’t had a single slue to what that meant. “So then…what about this…treasure?” Shay-ron asked somewhat eagerly. “Could there be something…hidden underneath here? Like..er…an underground tunnel or sumthin?” asked Seif. “Let’s see…considering just how old this piece of dirt probably is…and how this school was just recently built, I certainly wouldn’t doubt it.” “So then…we’re searching for it?” Eden asked, her tail wagging a mile a minute. “No way! Think of how dangerous it could be! Plus if we got caught…we could be hung!” The other three made a similar motion of waving it away. “Boooo!” they said together. Eventually the child sighed and gave in, “I’ll…try and find us a way in but…you bastards owe me…” he barked. As Cicerio departed from the others and the two boys walked Eden back to her room, Seif looked up to the ceiling in wonder and sound out loud, “How the hell could some brat know about things even I don’t know…just how old is he?”
The next bright morning, as class went onward and Eden peered through the window to gaze at the ocean, her scream echoed the room. The ocean was stained red and within, bodies. Shay-ron covered the girl’s eyes while Seif searched for answers. Within the ocean were the bodies of demons, all of them nothing more than civilians and from a distance were the war-boats of the human filled land. A hidden war was taking place.
The group had decided to meet up at a spot Cicerio said would lead them underground. “You all saw it eh?” “I feel bad that Miss Eden had to be the first…are you well enough to come?” asked Shay. She nodded, her ears and tail both low, “Yes…I-I-I w-want to see the treasure…maybe it’ll be a clue to why Yadra is hiding so many things…” “Good, then Miss Eden if you wouldn’t mind…please touch this later and tell me if you can get a vision.” Cice requested. Unsure, Eden decided to obey anyways. “I see…water, lots and lots of it…and…there’s….something floating in it….a girl…a girl is dying down there!!” she shouted. Shay jumped down into the fairly large underground tunnel and sure enough met with water, and lots of it. Just as Eden described, there was a blue haired figure floating fairly close. Pulling her aside to the nearest part of ground, he shouted up to his companions. “It’s okay, you’ll land in water but you have to dive!” The others followed in his direction and stared at the girl on the side of the cement. “Alright, we push her up on one…two…three!!” Using their strength they managed to get the female onto dry land but something was odd about her. Instead of the ears of a human, demon or even an elf…her ears were webbed like a sea monster. Her legs were also replaced with a long and beautiful dark blue scaled tail similar to that of a fish. Eden gasped,”Oh my….she’s beautiful!!” Yet the touch of her pale skin sent shivers down their spines. “So cold…why?” asked Shay. For once it was Seif that was able to answer this one. “You need to get out more kiddo…this is an undine.” “Eh? I thought she was a mermaid…from all the pictures at school…” commented Eden. Cicerio shook his head, “No…Seif is for once, right. To normal people or at least at a glance, they are similar but…” “Undines are much, much more powerful. While mermaids mostly stick to the area they were born in…undines have the amazing ability to travel in any body of liquid they choose. They’re almost…guardians of the waters, spending time protecting their kind and keeping the balance. But if you’re lucky, and I mean really lucky…you can see them singing near waterfalls or lake. They’re almost impossible to see....” he marveled. Eden poked the cold figure,” ‘Scuse me! Please wake up Miss Undine!!” As if by fate, the creature spit up what appeared to be blood and awoke. “Don’t be alarmed, none of us are here to hurt you.” Cicerio said quickly. The girl coughed a bit more and nodded, “I-I-I k-know…cough, cough! I do not sense darkness in any one of your…hearts.” She replied. “Blood…are you okay?” asked Eden concerningly. The undine nodded, “Yes…I was in the ocean…when they attacked because I could hear a call…this is just water from the sea I’m coughing up….I managed to somehow send myself here though…” she explained. “Poor thing…” “Even the sea is upset…I can still hear all those people screaming for mercy…it was horrid.” “Was it…Lauon flags you saw on the ships?” Shay asked. She nodded, “Yes…oh forgive…I’ve…y-y-yet to introduce myself yet. I’m Prisca. If there’s anything I am able to do to help you then please…let me aid you. You have saved my life.” She bowed. “Have you…been in here before?” asked Cice. “Well yes, up until the water ends, no human ever makes it that far, unless they possess magic…ah! I know! I shall take you all to this place, how does that sound?” “Can you…take us there without us drowning?” asked Seif. She smiled, “But of course~ Tis a simple task for an undine~” sang Prisca. Shay and Seif held her hands within the water while Cicerio rode her back and Eden clung to her waist. Twirling her finger and spinning her body once, the group was immediately sent to a different location, quickly Prisca swam up to give the others air. “It’s…a pool.” Eden noted. Cicerio pointed up to a wall of stone with writing on it. All getting out of the water(Seif was holding Prisca) each read what was written.
Never forget the tale of two children and their lost tears. Here t’was a city of prosperity; none like it. Within was a miserable man with a miserable soul for each time someone would make him smile, that person would disappear, never to be seen again. Weeping and weeping, the man wanted so badly to stop but alas, no one could save his damned soul. One night, carrying his bloodstained knife a phantom appeared before him and said that he would give him the ability not only to stop taking life, but to make it as well. The man accepted, he was given a beautiful home and in order to test what the phantom had said, a child within his basement was born dead. No life breathed into this child until a soul was placed within, making him a creature the world had never seen. This boy even possessed the ability to control the magic that protected the town and many other things. And while the people and scientist were happy, something was amiss. Never once did the child smile, so returning back to the lab; another dead child was born. A soul was placed like the first and as the elder brother marveled, the bell sounded. The wicked specter had returned, demanding that his two souls be returned. Desperately the man tried fighting the creature but to no avail, his soul was taken from him. Running back the first went to the room of his unawakened brother. He hid the child from the eyes of the specter and after completing the task; his soul too was taken from his poor body. On that day as well, the magic within crushed the town and left nay a single survivor. No one shall know of this place; no one shall know of the children’s unseen tears and the invisible paradise.
Eden placed her forehead to the wall of stone as tears escaped her eyes. “How…horrible…” she mourned. “The world of spirits…is a dangerous one…” replied Prisca. Suddenly Eden literally fell into the stone slab and of course the others passed right along with her. “What…was that?” she asked. “Some sort of barrier magic most likely…to keep out evil…” said Seif. “This room…it’s pitch black…not even I can see anything.” replied Shay-ron. Seif, using his spiritual abilities promptly created a large orb of light showing destruction and cobwebs. At the end of the room rested a device holding strange screens, most of them extremely dusty. “What…is this thing?” asked Prisca, Cice and Shay. “It’s…a computer module, you’ve never seen it because it’s waaaaay to advanced for you guys but…even now these things are so impossible to come by…you have to have special permission to use them.” Seif explained, touching it. “I’ve seen them…before with…Papa…” Eden added. “Alright…let’s see if this thing starts up…I’m thinking this may just be our treasure ladies and gentlemen….” Typing at a thousand miles a minute, the screens and entire room began to light up. “What’d you find?” “Let’s see…something about a ‘Program 02’, that’s most of what I’m seeing. Let’s see if I can start it up…” A few minutes passed before a message appeared on all the screens. “Before running start-up for 02, a password must be issued. Please type in and confirm password. “What’s a…password?” the trio asked. “A password…is for security purposes…so that nothing will damage the program…” Eden answered without hesitation. With a few simple keystrokes the room darkened except for a few glowing a pale lavender. The wall suddenly fell, opening up a holding device surrounded with all sorts of connecting devices. All of the group could suddenly hear the faintest sound of a heartbeat. “The wire revealed a figure of a boy with hair matching the light of the room. “NOW RUNNING START UP PROGRAM 02…” he replied, his eyes glowing ever so lightly with a golden light. “PASSWORD AND SOFTWARE ACCEPTED…NOW SCANNING…” “What…is that thing?” asked Shay. “The...program…” Seif answered. Just then the heart beat sound stopped, ”MEMORY LOST…UNABLE TO UPLOAD OR RESTART...NOW REBOOTING…” “No...Memories? How can it have no memories?” asked Prisca. “SCAN COMPLETE…NO DATA IMPUTED, RELEASE…NOW.” The child suddenly fell as the cords all along his elegant body set him free, and just before he collapsed to the ground and shattered, Seif caught him. The strange ‘program’ opened his beautiful golden eyes,”H-Hello…”
