The boy‘s eyes once again gained that golden glow. “What’s he…doing?” asked Prisca who was now in Shay’s arms. “I think it’s…scanning me…” Seif guessed. As soon as he was done and his eyes returned to normal, the boy affectionately hugged onto his neck. “Well…at least he’s not heavy but…this ‘program’ wasn’t exactly what I was expected…” “He must’ve been the treasure Miss Yadra wanted but…it has not data right? So then…wouldn’t he be useless?” wondered Eden. “Not unless she could teach it…Obviously that scientist taught the first, somehow this one is able to learn as well…” Cicerio replied, looking at the boy intently. “Try teaching him something Mr. Seif, see if Cice is correct!” said the undine. The nobleman thought for a moment then placed the boy on the ground. “Say…ahh!’ he instructed. The ‘program’ opened his mouth just as Seif had done and let out an,”Ahh!” “So then…it’s a self teaching computer?” asked Shay. “Looks like…this kid isn’t no program after all…” Cice interjected, his hands on his hips. “A name! You should give him a name…or maybe he already comes with one!” suggested the Seer. “Alright you…what’s your name?” asked Seif. “Registered system is 02…” replied the boy. “Well we can’t just call him 02, that’s just silly. You should try naming him Seif.” Added Pris. Seif sat down on the stone ground and of course the robotic boy of course mimicked his movements to the exact detail. After thinking and thinking as hard as he could a name popped into his head. “Duo, what about that?” His eyes changed once more, “Duo…” he whispered softly. “Hmph, well let’s go. Duo can stay here.” Waved the elf. Of course the rest of the group shot him looks, “Are you insane?! If we leave him here…he’ll be caught and used for Yadra’s ambitions! He might even be killed.” “Not only that but he doesn’t have anyone else! Not even memories to go by! You’re sentencing him to death!!” “I’m sorry Cicerio but not even I can agree with what you are saying; you’re abandoning a baby! He’s innocent and shouldn’t be used in such horrid ways…” Seif pulled Duo to his chest and glowered at Cicerio,”I’m not going to leave him for nothing. And excuse us if the rest of us possess hearts…You elves always preach about the spirits and fate right? So then…maybe fate led us to him so we could protect him.” Cicerio bit his lip and shouted at the others. “You’re all mad! There’s no way that she wouldn’t be able to find this…thing. Guards always check our rooms and if we get caught…will it matter? We’ll be killed and he’ll just end up being used anyways, there’s no point!” Duo gripped tightly onto Seif’s shirt and at the same time the room’s light flickered and the walls began to shake “W-What the hell is that?!” Shay asked. Seif looked down to see Duo’s eyes tightly shut and his body shaking. “He’s…afraid…He’s the one doing this.” Softly he stroked the robot’s cheek and calmed him down. “This must be why Yadra wants him…just like in the story…he can control the objects around him…” Seif whispered. “Fine…take that thing if you want…but when you get caught, it’s not going to be my problem.” ‘Cicerio…your heart is…aching, why?’ Eden wondered. After a somewhat long trek and sneak back into the school, the group huddled together in Seif’s room. “So…what are we going to do about you Miss Prisca?” Shay asked, placing her on a bed. “Once I dry, I’ll go into my human form so it should be alright. Just…give me a few minutes.” She answered with a gentle smile. Sure enough her tail was then replaced with a pair of gorgeous long legs and her once aqua hair now turned a flame red. “You’re so beautiful Prisca…I’m jealous…” Eden said with a pout. The undine giggled, “Please stop, you’re adorable!~” The boys rolled their eyes and focused back to Duo. “The guards check on different days so what about if we take turns passing him around? That way they’ll almost never be able to find him! Have me and you watch him then switch with Ci-I mean Eden…” Shay-ron suggested. “That’s an amazing idea Shay! And we’ll all make sure to teach Duo new things every day!~” Just then, a knock came at the door. The Elven prince gasping for air and looking exhausted. “Sir Cicerio, she’s…she’s declared war upon us!” he managed to reply. “Calm down, whom are you talking about?” he asked. The adult pulled out a scroll and handed it to the child and it only took him a few brief moments to read the paper. He slammed his fist into the wall, creating a fairly decent sized hole. “Cicerio!” Eden pulled at the boy’s arm from the hold and held it tight. “What’s wrong?” “I need you to sit down…and Duo, scan this room.” He ordered. Doing a deep scan of the room with a blank tone he responded, “No magical or technological dangers sited.” “Good, keep scanning incase something or someone suspicious pops up, understand?” The boy nodded while the group sat down on the beds. “He is not the prince, I am.” Everyone gasped. “I’ve kept my ‘role’ hidden so that I will not be in danger, while my ‘shadow’ assumes the role instead...at least to the rest of the world. It was my…mother who sent me here to this country to attend the school.” “Eh?! Why?” “Because…we’ve both been quite wary of Yadra and her...life. From her birth to her introduction to the public…she’s always acted so odd. Neither of us trusted her at all and then even now…I’m almost certain that she had her family killed to assume the throne, knowing that she’d be able. That b***h…all she wants to do is conquer everything she can get her grubby little hands on…even my forest!” he shouted. “No offense but do you really have to worry about the Forest falling? Not only are you more physically and even magically gifted but you have all sorts of other magic being to aid you. I honestly don’t believe she could actually-“ The false prince shook his head, ”She’s already halfway captured the land of the demons…it’s merely a matter of time before she gets them onto her side and overruns the three lands…” “She wanted to corner us from the very beginning…dammit!” shout Cicerio. “Then…let’s run away.” Eden said suddenly. “You’re right…she’ll find out about Duo and then…more people will be enslaved. There’s no way you’d stand any sort of chance so…there’s…no choice Cicerio.”

Later that day, as the others had packed their things Eden had walked out with Duo at her side. Luckily Duo’s hair was long enough to hide his odd looking ears but still people glowered at Eden herself. Holding his hand Duo looked at her curiously. “…Sad?” “Ah! N-No…It’s just, I don’t know...I sort of pity all these people…how their lives will be…thrown away…” “Thrown a-way? Unable to process….” He responded, “No one is able to ‘throw’ someone away.” Eden laughed then jumped atop a streetlight, letting the wind blow through her. “My Papa Tibero told me that…throwing someone away…means that you’re killing them.” “Kill?” “Causing death; it means…they’ll never ever come back, no matter how much you cry and beg…they’re just…gone…” A sad look appeared on Duo’s face, “Will…we all die?” “Papa says that everyone has to die but that…our spirits always end up reborn…In a past life…I could’ve been a blade of grass while Seif could’ve been a rock..” she laughed. “…What about Duo?” he asked with an upset look. “Was Duo grass or a rock?” “I bet you were a flower~” she said with a smile. Suddenly a feeling…over swept Eden’s body. An overwhelming feeling of fear and sadness. “Someone’s…in trouble!” “Others?” Duo asked, running beside Eden. She shook her head, “That would take way too long, we have to hurry, now…this person is in real danger…”After running at a breakneck speed the two came upon an apartment building engulfed in flames. “Fire…bad! Eden can’t go!” Duo interjected. “It’s…fine, just be ready to help him if you feel anything’s wrong okay?” Blindly rushing in and ignoring the boy’s words, Eden entered. The flames had probably already scorched through about eighty percent of the place and Eden found herself desperately searching for the frightened person. ‘I’m going to die…’ she heard his heart whisper. Pushing aside the flame covered objects away; she picked up the somewhat small figure and gave him a smile. “No…you’re not.” Her body, already singed, vision getting blurry and her lungs screaming for proper air, she looked to see that her previous exit was beyond passable. Having the boy clinging tight to her chest Eden, with incredible agility pierced through the roof and fell to the ground, the boy still completely unharmed. “Eden!” Duo cried, rushing to the unconscious twosome. The next thing she knew, she was in her room, Cicerio looking up at her. Just as she was about to get up, the prince shook his head.
“It’s probably best that you don’t do that…you had a lot of bad burns that Prisca had a somewhat difficult time healing. Not to mention you had a hell of a lot of smoke inhalation. That…thing brought both of you here without attracting attention…” “What…about…the…boy?” Eden managed to whisper. “He’s a little worse that you are so Prisca is taking care of him now. I sent a bird to Seif so he should be here soon…hopefully with medicine.” Eden responded with a nod, her body aching in pain. “That was a pretty stupid thing to do by the way. You’re pretty lucky to be alive at the moment…” Cicerio grumbled. “It…was…right thing to…do.” She answered. Still the elf gave her a skeptical look until Shay and Seif appeared. “We heard everything, is Miss Eden alright?” Shay asked concerningly. “Fine…” she answered weakly. “What the hell were you thinking?! You could’ve died!” Seif barked. Eden didn’t answer, she knew she’d be wasting her breath if she tried explaining herself; they wouldn’t understand. Duo entered the room, “Awake!” he said frantically. The boys rushed in to see that the innocent Eden saved was alive and well with a few burns. But Seif had a different look. “Why is Seif…sad?” asked Duo. “B-B-Because that’s my…little brother…”



Gah...sorry this one was hella short...I've been feelin a little funky for the past few days, and I've lost my appetite as well...And so the introduction of Duo!~ Gyaaaa! For some reason I adore him to the core!! Something about him...so cute!! But le gasp, Cice a prince?! How could you hide that you naughty boy! *slaps* And double le gasp! Seif's little bro comes! So many suprises, guess you'll have to wait till I type the next one! Now if you'll excuse me...I have some revised game rules to type up....
