Outside, storm clouds were heading their way towards the kingdom. You could hear the approaching lightning if you listened closely. All this weather seemed odd, as if someone had made it artificially. Back in the castle, Brian, Evangeline, and Ambista stood in the corridor, ready to fight. "Brian, what's going on? H-how...how did you do that?" asked Evangeline, her face all pale as if she was also a vampire. The thunder from outside rumbled, and the ground shook with a blast of each lightning bolt. "Oh, poor little darling Evangeline! How would you like a nice glass of juice?"snickered Ambista in disbelief. With a snap of her finger, a bottle of elixir had appeared suddenly in the palm of her hand. "Poor this on yourself, it'll make you much better. Then again, maybe all just throw it at you!" The bottle of elixir slowly floated in the air. Ambista focused, embracing a rope of magic dust clinging to the elixir. With a jolt, she pushed the potion, mouth first, towards Evangeline. Evangeline closed her eyes, frightened of what could happen next.
Then, she heard the breaking of the glass bottle, followed by a loud whining coming from someone. She opened her eyes and found Brian lying on the ground in front of her. He clutched his heart, and a thought rushed into Evangeline's head. Brian, he's aching. Oh no, something's definitely wrong, she thought. Brian suddenly stopped dead, and lay still for a long while. When he woke up, he was no longer himself. "Brian!" Evangeline shouted. She hugged him as tight as she could. Then, Brian pushed himself away and said,"Evangeline, stop it!" Evangeline froze. She could not believe the person she loved would say such a horrible thing to her. It was then that she knew what had happened. Brian had no longer loved her.
