Dark Link Fan Fic Chapter 1 |

Chapter 1: The Dark World
in the dark world, in the constant down pour, Dark Link curled up under a tree to sleep. Rain trickled down through the leaf less branches, but it provided some cover. He was weary from travel and he was tired of being wet. it had rained for 3 days now, or so he thought. he never payed much attention to things like that. he just wandered all over, with no true purpose or destination, until the day he was brought before Link to battle. Until then, he spent his days in misery growing resentful of the Light world.
in his natural form, Dark Link is pitch black in color and has the same build as Link, as he is Link's shadow. And in being Link's dark side/counterpart, he is considered to be the Hero of Shadows. If he manages to be Link in mortal combat, then the Dark World would know a better world. because as one world prospers, the other suffers, that's just common basic knowledge of the logic of realms.
He shivered against the cold. he remembered his first taste of sunlight. it was warm, bright, almost comfortable. that was at least 1,000 years ago*.curse them all. he would have his revenge for his years of torment.
after a short, restless nap, Dark Link awoke. he had a splitting headache and he was starving. hanging on the branches of his shelter were dark world apples. he picked a few and swiftly devoured them. he thought it rather lucky, but knew it wouldn't be long until the pains of hunger gnawed at his stomach again. it was all part of the plan to keep him miserable, resentful, and hungry for revenge, he thought bitterly.
then he set out again. to be honest, he had no idea where he was. he hated the company of other shadows, and he avoided towns if he could. so when a few shadow children approached him, he became annoyed and guessed he was near a settlement. they followed him, crowded him, sometimes tugging on his clothes.
"you've 10 seconds to escape with your lives" he growled at them.
he also began to count down from 10.
they laughed, drew hidden daggers and slingshots, and he then realized they had surrounded him.
" look here mister, we couldn't find yer wallet. so now we hafta use force." said the tallest one. " so just hand over anythin'o value, and leave yer sword. we'll let you off easy"
dark link smiled evily, kept counting, place his hand on his blade, and the children advanced. " one".
they leapt on him and he drew his sword. his shield blocked several slingshot attacks and he slipped through the advancing children. . he managed to catch the tallest one by his collar, lift him off the ground, and put his blade to his neck in cold blood. " please let me go. we was only funning. can't you take a joke?" he pleaded. Dark Link didn't relax his grip. " i gave you 10 seconds " i thought you were funning too! honest! please let me go" he cried. " this isn't fun?" " not anymore" then Dark Link paused, dropped his sword. " damn. i was all set to kill, but now you've gone and ruined it..." he dropped the kid on the ground and gave him a swift kick that sent him flying a small distance. the kids ran off frightened. Dark Link reminisced on the days when he used to jump travelers. he'd never gotten caught like that. and he never would have pleaded like that either. damn kids. why hadn't he killed them? cause they're on the same side? because they weren't worth it. that's why. that was definitely NOT mercy by any means!!!!
he passed through the town on all the quiet roads. whoever he passed he ignored, and anyone who spoke to him was met with a death threat. he didn't stay longer than needed and no one minded and the rain let up but he didn't even notice.
it seems the only way to pass the time was to sleep or destroy. but he saw through the role he was made for. his world was broken enough without his help.he knew the goddesses intended on making him the enemy of both worlds. their scapegoat. he had been for a while. now he's just the realm-failure. but he was sealed to fate, and he'd save the dark realm for himself.
as he crossed a brook, something strange occurred. as he reached the middle of a flimsy wooden bridge, the water became agitated.he drew his sword, and tensed for battle, but he was lost in a cascade of water as the hand pulled him under. his sword was wrenched from his grip. what the hell was this all about??? he was terribly confused. and he, no pun intended, blacked out.
was this some form of monster? is this death for him? impossible. he woke up on a cold hard stone floor. it was misty, and dark, even for him. he rubbed his eyes and looked around dazed.
"DARK LINK" boomed an angry female voice.
the goddesses he thought frightened.
"WE ARE SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU!!!!!"
three women came towards him. he stood up
"what?" he'd gotten the proverbial back hand more than once....
" it appears...you're losing your darkness"
" i'm just as evil as ever!!!" he shot back
" those kids were a test! you let them live!!!!"
he glanced at the ground. damn it! he should have killed them! all of them!!!!
"i'm sorry...." he muttered
" APOLOGIES??? you are weak! we have a solution for that!"
one of them snapped her fingers and a red spiral of light held him captive and cause him pain. like fire in his veins. he struggled to keep standing.
"Ganondorf is coming to power again. he'll succeed this time, because you won't fail us this time, will you? Ganondorf is the true hero of shadows. go now, to the realm of light and live up to YOUR name, hero!" said one sarcastically, and with a mocking laugh.
" you should just be happy we can't even kill you*"
the spiral was taken away and Dark Link breathed easier. " i won't let you down" he lied. he already had a plan. he'd get Ganon, then Link. he'd prove himself a shadow. the best damn shadow this world, any world, had ever seen. and they opened a portal under him, and he fell into the realm of light.
