Chapter 4: The True Nature of Evil & the Struggle of Light
LONGEST ******** CHAPTER! ARE YOU READY?
Night fell and Dark Link felt slightly better, he forced himself to sit up and look out the window. " the darkness here....." he said without finishing. he wasn't sure what he thought of it. it was darkness that existed within light, not the total absence of light. they still feared it, but they didn't hate it....he closed his eyes and wondered how that would feel.
come morning, the women from before came back. he could see them, but decided not to let them know he was up. he wanted to hear what they had to say. they fascinated him. " bleedin all over the place...you better pray for a normal child." " calm down,deb" they opened the door revealing an older woman and a pregnantwoman. s more thankful for his pitch black complexion.
remembering the voices, he deduced that uli was the pregnant one, and deb was the old one...
uli set down a plate of bread " the poor thing. i could hear his stomach all the way by my house. " she said casting a sympathetic glance at him. IS THAT WHAT THEY THINK???? he thought surprised and a bit humiliated. " i wouldn't worry about it, not like he cares.: said Deb.
this was enough for him and he moved with the appearance of just waking. " holy goddesses!!!" said deb surprised. no apology, needless to say. " oh! you're up. how are you feeling?" uli asked calmly but slightly frightened.
"why the hell do you care?" he spat back.
" why am i here?" he asked curiously.
" i don't care much, but the mayor wants to chat with you." said Deb promptly and annoyed.
just then, a blond man appeared in the door armed with a sword and shield. " uli, i think you should,er, be resting at home." he said with uncertainty. you could tell he wanted her nowhere near Dark Link. The Shadow.
" is it, i mean he, awake?" the man asked
"yes, i am, thanks for asking." dark link said sarcastically.
" oh...sorry...the mayor wants to talk to you. we're all under the impression that you...know something. anyways, are you able to walk?"
"i'll give it my best shot...." more sarcasm.
using his good arm on a chair for support, he tried to lift himself to his feet. but it was no use. his chest pained him and he slid back down he groaned, " no...good..." he muttered.
"i see" said the man.
"russ," said Deb," why don't you and my husband support him? we could just set him outside."
" like a goddamn house plant. do you realize who you're -" Dark Link was cut off as deb leaned in.
" and what're you going to do?"
he glared at her, but said nothing.
"goodx enough", Russ decided.
another man was brought in. he looked plain and seemingly very cross with Dark Link. despite his angry expression, he did his best to be gentle with him. . they placed him in the sunlight against a large stone. a small crowd had gathered and it felt like an execution.
yes...just come and look...at the shadow you've captured...he's so mean...so strange..let's just watch him...like a fish out of water..., he thought dejectedly.
there were soft blades of grass surrounding him sparsely. he sat in the light and was warm. his wounds burned. this was all a sick joke. taunting him. look! this world is soft and kind and beautiful! but not for you. no. never for you.
just then a few kids ran into the crowd. A REAL SHADOW??? I GOTTA SEE!!!!"
"i don't believe it...."
"maybe we'll get a chance to fight it!! no shadow is gonna get us!"
"talo, calm down!
"i can't!
the three youngsters burst through the crowd. 2 boys, 1 girl. they were smiling and one had a small wooden sword in one hand. he gave dark link a slight poke.
"TALO! MALO! BETH!" the kids were jerked back swiftly and they began to whine and apologize. a timid child, he noticed, hid behind the adults.
suddenly the crowd parted and a large bald man with tusk piercings approached. Dark Link's head slipped down to his left shoulder. the man leaned in on him. how humiliating,
"what do you want to know?" he asked the man.
"who are you first off?"
" my name...i..." he was hesitant to reveal his position of shadow hero. " i'm Dark Link. kill me if you so wish, i don't care."
"dark...link?"
" yes damn it. shadow of the legendary hero of Hyrule. the hero of shadows. the greatest shadow ever to rise."
"what's this all about?"
"fine, i'll tell you." he said reluctantly." but first...tell me everything you know about shadows."
"why"
" i want to know how much you think you know."
" shadows are self-destructive beings who want rule our world and lead it to ruin!" shouted a villager
"is that all?"
"they are the seed of evil!"
"there we go! now i know where to start!" he said almost excitedly.
and so begins the truth.
i'm just extending this to another document.
