Next day, angel showed up again. “Tell me angel, why can I see these things? Why me? Why not someone else?” She didn’t look at me. She was staring at the room.

“Hey Steven, why do humans get locked up in a place like this. Is it supposed to help you from killing yourself? If I were stuck in a room like this, I would want to speed up that process.” She laughed at her own joke. I just stared at her. She didn’t answer my question. She was on to something. Is a white padded room, isolated from everyone, supposed to prevent people from taking their life? That just seems ignorant.

Next day the nurse paid me a visit. I wonder what type of sick ******** she dealt with in her line of work. Did she think of me as another loony toon? Maybe she did, maybe she didn’t. “Hello Steven. I am your nurse.” Really? Did she really think that I didn’t know that already? “Tell me Steven. Do you really see what they say you see?” Ah, so she wanted to know if I was seeing them, or possibly high. “Nurse…uhm. I don’t know your name.” “Oh, sorry. My name is April.” April. She was named after a month. She must’ve had intelligent parents. “Well April, what does it matter to you? Am I not just another sick ******** in the insane asylum?” I guess she took offense to my choice of words. She got up, opened the door, and left me back to my solitude.

A couple of days passed. I was brought to the doctor’s office. He wanted to analyze my mind. Possibly see what was wrong with it. He wouldn’t find anything. “Steven, I’m going to ask you some simple questions. I just want you to pay attention, and answer a few things for me.” I wasn’t paying attention to him. I was staring at the angel behind him. She was mocking the poor b*****d and he didn’t even know it. Making the same gestures as him. Mouthing what he was saying. Like she was a small child. Not something you would expect from an angel.
