Story I was inspired to write this because of Danni - she's been making me want to write lately and so I'll just dedicate this excerpt to her. Yes, that's right - it's for you. (: .. for some reason I couldn't help but think of DNAngel while writing this. haha Oh, and although I didn't specify in the story - the main character I've thought of to be a boy. yaoi!
He abruptly gripped my arm and pulled me towards him. "We have to get out of here." He said in a calm tone, however, his deep green eyes told me otherwise as I watched a rush of panic flame through them. He squatted down low, allowing his wings to reach their full height before jumping up and taking flight into the night whilst holding onto my thin, frail frame. I lightly hugged his neck and closed my eyes - the wind making my hair and clothes dance every which way. I slowly opened them as I felt him go no heigher and merely drift through the night sky. The sight below me was undescribable. I always felt such wonder when I was in the sky with him. It was as if we were in our own little world and for a little while I could escape. I watched the flickering lights on the pier and the angry waves crashing into the rocks by the side of it. I saw the lighthouse in the distance - it's beam penetrating through the nightsky and mist hovering over the ocean. It was a beautiful sight - so peaceful and surreal. And yet, there was a hidden danger waiting to devour us - devour me. I swallowed and shut my eyes tight at this thought, clutching tighter to his neck involantarily. He must have noticed this because he softly whispered, "It's okay. Your safe. I won't let them take you." I looked around his head at the moon. It was a full moon tonight and it seemed to shine with more intensity than ever before from up here. I let myself get lost in the moment but was quickly awaken by the sudden, immediate stop and plunge downwards causing me to cry out and grip onto his neck, shutting my eyes tightly as I felt a wave of adrenaline shoot through my veins. I felt us turning left, right, then upwards again, and soon lost count. I kept my eyes squeezed shut and held an iron grip on his neck, he in turn had pulled me tighter to his body as the flight became more turbulant.
