My three favorite super heroes of all time are Captain America, Batman, and Spawn. Yes, I'm a geek. It's pretty well established and it's a fact I don't dispute. I love video games, comics, Magic The Gathering, and generally nerdy s**t.
This thread is addressing just Captain America tonight.
As the defender of Truth, Justice, Liberty, and Honor, Captain America isn't someone I just respect...I idolize. Whether it be taking down the Nazis, or the Communists, or any threat to America, Captain America is someone I admire. I know he's fictional, but it doesn't change the fact that he's someone everyone can look up to.
I've come across a piece of complete awesomeness tonight. My friend Bobby found me a gem at a comic shop in Fredericksburg. He got me a hardbound book of Captain America done by current writer Ed Brubaker. It even cover up through the Death of Captain America. This is a normally $75 book. But, this book is that much more special is the fact that it's autographed by Ed Brubaker and artist Steve Epting. That instantly makes the book worth at least double! Not that I ever would sell it. That would be the stupidest thing I've ever done. How ******** awesome is that?!?!? It's now my most prized possession. It's so beautiful and so wonderful, and the fact that Bobby got it for the cover price...well, in my mind I owe him big. I've got to do something really special for him. That was so incredibly generous. It's really made my day.
Speaking of which, I've been reading the Captain America Reborn story arc. It's been a fascinating read up to this point. It's a shame that it'll end in November, but I can't wait for the conclusion. I'm sorry. I just can't get behind Bucky Barnes as Captain America. To me, Captain America always has been and always will be Steve Rogers. I'm glad to see that they're bringing him back. If you live close to me and you want to read the series, let me know.
Keri's talking about getting me the graphic novel centering around the Death of Captain America for Christmas. That would be pretty awesome. I need to find the rest of the Essential Captain America volumes that Marvel put out. I have volume 1. I believe there are 3 more. Maybe 4. It's either volume 4 or volume 5. I don't remember which. I just hope they're not out of print.
Well true believers....it's time to call it a night. I'll post about something later.

This is me, unfiltered and raw.
This is where I rant about whatever's on my mind at the time.
