Lets first talk about what a loup-garou is shall we?
Artemis, the goddess of Moon and hunting looked over wolves as she does today. A male wolf was hurt badly by a large pack of wild cats and fainted near a house. There was a girl there who was a maiden. She saw the wolf and took him in, nursing him back to health. His love for her grew and he wanted to love her forever but he was not human. So he called for Artemis to come down from the moon. She did and he begged to become a human. She told the begging wolf that she'd make him half and half so he could be human when he wanted but had to change into a wolf on full moons and could change whenever he wanted as well. He agreed and she told him,"Use this power well for if you misuse it, I shall ask my brother Apollo for his light and use my arrows to turn that light into the silver that will kill you forever." He had children and soon died with his wife, Artemis watching over the new pack and making it stronger.
