What I Miss
Sleeping between my grandparents, Sunday breakfast,
watching the airplanes and curling up with my Papa.
My teddy bear and playing in the playground after school with Chirstian;
running around pretending to be mad scientists searching for the cure while
dodging the monkey bar monsters.
Kissing my crush in the book corner
giggling and blushing while he igrnoed and called me names.
Saturday nights at the race track, my baby cosuin,
recess, and softball practice.
Helping my Meme and playing in the backyard with the kids;
running around in an imaginary world saving the princess and killing royalty.
Giggling and talking nonstop about boys and pop idols
before running off to play four square.
Watching old scary movies, staying up all night,
sleep overs and being called 'Elby.'
Secret shopping and receiving an award; standing in front of a crowd clapping for me.
The smile and approved look mother would always give me.
Not worrying over every little thing
just living life to the fullest,
taking the turns as they come.
As I grow up and the world changes with me,
I'm left with the fact that I can never go back.
Leaving my past Being is hard bit the lessons always stay with me.
