Have you ever had one of those dreams that continued little by little each night? Well i have. This time it was so interesting that i had decided to make it into a story.
Tell me what you think of it so far.
Setting: Southeast Tennessee, the year 2014.
Info you might need to know: Im 22 and ive moved out of my parents house. Blaze does not exist outside of my dreams.
Keep in mind that this is my rough draft. It is still a work in progress. If there's anything that you feel that i should edit, please tell me.
That night felt like any other night. I laid awake looking at the ceiling unable to sleep once again, while a storm raged outside. The winds howled their sweet song as the thunder shook the heavens.
As i lie awake, my mind tends to wander, thinking of what my future may hold. My thoughts were rudely interrupted by a loud crash. Now my room is pitch black, the light to enter the room is the soft glow of the occasional lightning flash.
Blaze was also awaken by the sound. He opened the door and jumped into my bed, then cuddled beside me and whimpered. "Its okay boy, its only a little noise." I hugged him as the storm continued to frighten him. Blaze pushed me off of him and pawed at the door. "What is it boy? Do you want to go outside?" He ran back to my bedside and whimpered once more. So I sat up, slipped on some shoes and walked to the front door. As i opened the door Blaze took off into the darkness. "That crazy dog must have ran off into the woods again" I thought to myself, as i reached for the umbrella beside the door. Luckily the rain had stopped, while the wind and thunder continued to rage. "Blaze? Where are you?!" I called as i entered the woods. I wandered deeper and deeper looking and calling my beloved pet. Eventually i hear a rustling sound coming from behind me. "Blaze! There you are! I--" I stopped dead in my tracks. Red glowing eyes and white gleaming teeth appear from the bushes, followed by a low growling sound. My Heart skipped a beat as I realized that this was no friend, but a beast. Time stood still and lightning streaked the sky. The creature began to step out from the bushes, with fangs snarling and the sent of death was heavy in the air. I screamed in terror as time began to move forward again. I knew that if i didn't run, i would soon meet my maker.
And that's where i woke up. hopefully tonight will reveal more to me.
