When you throw a bag of acid
The bubble bursts, and consumes
Eating away at my chest
Your words burn through
So maybe it isn't a whim
I know you very well
Your defences I break
You are very transparent
It's a mystery why I stayed so long
Maybe I wanted to prove you wrong
Could be I'm a fool for trying
I'll be damned, because I'd do it again
I guess that means I'm defeated
At least I'm not conceited
