~Chapter Four~


♥A What In My Land?♥





The Queen of Hearts cringed. "There is a what in my land?" Her eyes gazed from a large, rainbow trimmed, heart-shaped mirror to the Wise Ol' Catapillar sitting on the air beside her.

"There is a human." The Wise Ol' Catapillar repeated, turning himself upside down.

"Human...Ugh. How did she get here?" The Queen asked, fiddling with a strand of her hair.

The Catapillar chuckled. "She fell."

The Queen stared in disbelief at the Catapillar. "She fell? Are you serious?"

"As serious as the madness of the Hatter." The Catapillar replied as he stood himself upright again.

Sighing, the Queen of Hearts turned away from the mirror.

"So. There is a human here." The King of Hearts spoke lowly as he entered the room. Upon his shoulder, rested the Cheshire Cat. Her eyes gazed from the Queen to the Catapillar, who, now coward behind the Queen.

"Yes. There is." The Queen of Hearts answered as she glanced over her shoulder before looking at her brother, the King. "Keep your pet away from mine."

The King of Hearts looked towards the cat. "Cheshire....What did you do this time?"

Cheshire grinned. "Nothing. No proof. No lie."

"She tried to eat me!" The catapillar shouted while pointing at the Cheshire Cat, still cowering behind the Queen.

The Cheshire Cat grinned. "No harm, no foul. No proof, no lie." She vanished from the King of Hearts shoulder, reappearing on the Queen's. "Right, Ol' Wise One?"

The Queen of Hearts paused. She pushed Cheshire off of her shoulder. "Don't touch me flea bag or I will feed you to the Hatter. He likes cats."

The Cheshire Cat vanished before hitting the ground. Her tail appeared around the King's waist as the rest of her body was made clear in his arm. She hissed at the Queen.

The Queen's eyes turned white, her face reddened. "Don't you hiss at me you filthy animal! " She shouted, highly enraged. "OFF WITH HER HEAD!!"

Cheshire giggled, took off her head, and held it out to the Queen. "You really want it?" She asked with a sly grin.

"...Ugh!" The Queen turned away from her brother and the cat.

The King of Hearts sighed. "Before you two get too far into it...What are we planning to do about the human?" He asked, feely leaning himself, arms folded, against the door frame. He stroked the Cheshire's side fur as he awaited his sister's answer.

The Queen of Hearts turned her head to the mirror. A grin slowly apppeared to her face. "Have this human brought to me..." Her grin widened. "So I can chop off her head for trespassing on my land!" The Queen cocked her head to the side. "Besides..I do love a good head rolling." She giggled and twirled.

Cheshire looked up at the King. Remaining silent, the King of Hearts nodded in return. The Cheshire Cat sighed. She was quite enjoying her petting. She nuzzled the King's jaw, thanking him, then disappeared.

The Queen, with some help from the Wise Ol' Catapillar, stopped twirling and faced her brother again. Her eyes narrowed. "Where is the cat?" she asked in a demanding voice as her eyes scanned the room.

"She spotted a rat."

"Ew. Gross." The Queen wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Well." She smirked. "At least your pet is useful."

Outside the door, the Cheshire Cat frowned. "One day...I will make her head roll..but for now....To find the human." She turned herself away from the room, and vanished.
