~Chapter Five~
♥Is It As Seen?♥
Alice combed out the remaining dust from her hair with her fingers. "That was a load of bull... I'm sick and tired of these creatures.." She yawned as the words sluggishly drew from her mouth. "Tired.." Alice mutterfinally as she fell to her knees. She sat for a moment, then crumbled to her side.
Ominous giggling echoed into the field where the sleeping Alice now layed. A shadow followed the giggle. Creeping silently, closer and closer, reaching out to touch her......
"My hat!" The Hatter reached for it and whined. "Give it back or I'll snap off your tail with a butter knife!"
The hat twirled and twirled, it's current possesser slowly faded into view. She rested in the air just out of the Mad Hatter's reach. Boredly, she watched the hat twirl as she asked, "What were you about to do to that human?"
"Well, let's see, I was going to dress her, take her out to dinner, make her the dinner, but instead of eating her here, I was going to take her to the Queen and feast there." He snicker giglged, his eyes flashing with vibrant colours.
Cheshire rolled her eyes as she brought the hat close to Hatter's head. She froze. "Before I return this.. I need a favour."
Hatter twitched. "That's an evil word.... What favour? Give me my hat!" He grabbed it without warning and pulled it over his eyes. "Flavour flavour flavour flavour flavour flavour fla--"
Cheshire shook her head, her hand covering his mouth.
"Thank you.." Hatter muttered.
"You are still having problems with that?" Cheshire took her hand from his mouth, wiping it on his jacket.
Hatter nods before randomly twitching and giggling. He holds out a chipped cup to Cheshire. "Teeeaaaaa...?" He dropped the cup and burst out laughing.
"Hatter!" Cheshire hissed, her eyes red.
Hatter slinked back into a large, worn red-violet velvet chair. "Sorry.. Tehe." He clasped his hands over his mouth. "I be good."
Cheshire closed her eyes, calming herself. "The Queen wants ther dread. The human. She is going to send orders for you to kill her."
"Oh Goody!" Hatter giddily replied while clapping his gloved hands.
Cheshire paused. She reached over, took Hatter's hat from his head, smacked the back of his head, before returning his hat to its place. "No! Not good you idiot!" She growled.
Hatter growled back, snickered, then covered his mouth again. "Continue." his voice muffled.
Cheshire sighed. "Her brother wants this human to be taken back to her homeland. Will you help me?"
Hatter's hat twitched. His eyes widen. He pulled the hat from over his eyes. "Do my ears deceive me? The great warrior wants help? And she's chosen to ask me? Ha ha!" He stood with a grin. "Of course I will help you! Wait..." He looked at her distrustfully as his arms covered his hat again. "You're not going to steal my hat again, are you?" He asked, taking a step back from her and onto the chair.
Cheshire looked at him shocked. Her lips curled into a slow smile before she burst into laughter. "No no Hatter... I am not going to steal your hat. I just want your help."
Hatter scooped Cheshire up into his arms, petting her head softly. "Good Kitty..." He cooed.
Cheshire purred greatfully. She turned her head towards Hatter and growled. "Don't turn me into a liar, Hatter."
Hatter giggled. "Sleeeep Kitty..." He whispered while continuing to stroke her fur.
Chshire purred more. "Sleep..? Sleep sounds good.. Sleep.." Her eyes closed slowly. "Sleep..."
Hatter grinned. "Good Kitty..." He sat down in his chair, Cheshire resting upon his lap. His arm glided over her and to the mirror resting next to a perfectly handmade teapot. Hatter looked into the mirror. "I have her, my Queen."
