Jynette stared at him, a frown visible on her thin lips. "But you're helping me right now..."
Fai stared at the cracks in the table before him. His eyes were filled with sorrow. Jynette's words were of no use. She didn't understand the young boy and she knew she probably wouldn't. A tear slid down her face for him before she wiped her eyes and took out a napkin from one of her pockets. She unwrapped it to reveal some stale bread and a peice of tough fruit. She broke off a peice of the bread, which made to be no easy task, and held it out to Fai. He just stared at it. "Take it," Jynette instructed. Fai looked up at her with wide eyes.
"For... me...?" Jynette nodded seriously.
"Of course. Who else?" she confirmed. Fai shook his head. Jynette pressured, "Don't be silly. Take it!"
"But you shouldn't waste food on me," the blonde boy whined. Jynette leaned forward and shoved the peice into Fai's complaining mouth. She smiled victoriously as Fai sat stuffed with bread. After a defeated moment, he withdrew the food from his mouth. He wrinkled his nose at the taste of the stale bread. He looked to Jynette, who was eating her half of the bread. After a small sigh, he ate his half in small bites. "T-thank you..." he whispered sullenly.
