St. Patrick's Day There was no St. Patrick's Day event this year. All we got were the items in the cash shop (as mentioned in the previous journal.) EIRs [EIR: 3/19/10]

The pendant got a lovely reddish update. The compass got its 2nd evo. It already gave a wig. And Timmy got shoved in a barrel.

Imaginary Friend, Dappy Dandy
Dappy got a nice, white fancy shirt and cravat and big pretty blue hat~ Imaginary friend got its first evo. A giant red robot appeared. So did a reddish skin. Interesting. Up until then, I hadn't read the item's description.

From the first evo, I thought that the evos would give increasingly transparent skins that morphed more and more into the little white imaginary thing. I totally didn't see the part about the rainbows. If this item gives a skin with every evo, then.. daaamn~

Based on classic crime fighters and comic books. It gave us some new, decent items. Most are very expensive due to the high fail rate. And I saw many people complaining that their rare wins were giving them 14k items. [Random GCD Thread]
2010 Gaia Cons The season is starting up soon. [announcement]
Gaia will be going to 14 cons this year. I'm mostly interested in the things that people get for attending. "All Gaian attendees will snag some sweet swag: Gaia Gold, an exclusive event bundle, a special 2010 Convention Tour item, limited-edition Gaia collector cards and a chance to win even more goodies by participating in random games and events."

A new forum section has opened up that allows people to talk about what the Gaia staff deems are hot topics. :} Or at least that's what it looks like to me. I havene't ventured into these new forums yet.
Our current hot topic forums are: Twilight Saga, Glee, Lady Gaga, American Idol - Season 9, Naruto, and Spring Break Stories.
It sounds like a good way to focus some of that random energy in the site. It also sounds like it'd be full of topics like, "It sucks!" and "It's awesome!" And the two sides just battle it out for the most threads. XD I don't know. It sounds like a good idea... maybe it'll bring some random person on to Gaia that it wouldn't have attracted before. Gaia had one of the usual server failures... only this one wasn't so usual. For one thing, Gaia hasn't glitched in a while. For another thing, to those affected, it wasn't the usual glitch.
Some people weren't affected. However, they freaked out because all their friends turned into red x's and their usernames disappeared. It was obviously a glitch.
To those affected, you were logged out. Gaia was still up and running, no signs of pages that don't load. You tried to login. You got the normal "please try again, incorrect username or password." Try again, fail again. Gaia looked like it was working fine. You typed in your correct username. Only thing left is- wrong password! Someone changed your password!? Hack! .... It became obvious that it was a sitewide problem after a few mins. There were no new posts in the forums.
Gaia notified people using Twitter and Facebook. I wondered why they didn't put up a message on the site. I later heard that the admins were all affected and couldn't log into their Gaia accounts to make the necessary announcements either. ;3 No Easter Event; [random GCD thread] [random GCD thread]
In a normal session of Ask the Admin, users learned that there would be no Easter event this year. Their focus was working on the Summer Event so the Easter event was being skipped.
I'm writing this after the fact, but it was rather upsetting. Most users consider the Easter event to be as big as Halloween. It's not an event to be skipped. With all the feedback from the users, a couple devs made us an Easter event anyway. :3
