Graduation
It's time for another one of these.

Because I'm graduating on Saturday from UOP with my self-designed English/Visual Arts major and a Applied Mathematics minor. heart It has been four long years, and it has been grueling (at times).

This past semester has been a very odd one for me, filled with near-constant elation and whimsy. I will truly miss my sign language class, which has brought me so much joy and entertainment in the form of class and projects– though the teacher, Denise, assures us we can 'drop in' next year. I created a 32-page full color artbook as my capstone course with very mixed feelings, and ultimately it came out the same way– mixed results, but that's okay. I took a very enjoyable math class from a wily old professor named Ward, who from the very first day took a shine to me when I revealed my major. It was very fun to be a student in his class and I regret that I did not find him earlier. And I took the required Pac Sem III, but found a way to make it more bearable, by choosing my original advisor, Dr. Hackley, for my teacher, which was rewarding in its own right.

Ultimately it was a very nice conclusion to an otherwise questionable experience.

Thus these last few weeks have been a little surreal.

Moreover, I wrote three hundred pages of fan fiction over the course of these four months, which is near-insanity in its own right. My writing (and drawing) has been prodigious and insatiable, consuming the majority of my freetime (save that spent playing videogames with my brother on the weekends) and I have new favorite songs / a new favorite band, Silversun Pickups. Not to mention a jingle I heard on the radio. Go ahead and check them out:

The Royal We
Growing Old is Getting Old
Sort Of
Gold Guns Girls

They've helped inspire me to write a lot. As has the fact that I joined deviant art (in August), but finally started using it in December of last year.

What happened December of last year? Well, my brother bought my husband Left 4 Dead 2.

And I fell in love.

Little more really needs be said.

The whirlwind month of May has begun. Last weekend was my brother birthday, his prom, our 6th 'anniversary', and Mother's Day (though the last two were not celebrated outright). This weekend is graduation, as I mentioned. Next weekend we will be camping at Clearlake with grandpa (I can barely wait– I've been itching to go camping something fierce). And the weekend after that is Fanime, which my brother and I have prepared so hard for in the form of very accurate cosplays of *breath hitches* Nick and Ellis. heart

After that it will be very much time to start my job search... and potentially start a very new lifestyle.

You will hear from me. smile
