Love is a mystery, and for along time David Wolfgang was starting to feel like he'll never get the chance to understand the frase. For most of David's life has been spent in sadness and pain, the only love he ever felt was from his family. David is now almost 16, his parents died two years earlier, now he lives with his older brother Scott. Scott had never liked David from the minute he was born, he felt David was his parents only child and he was invisable, so ever time Scott is upset when he comes home from work, he starts to beat David with whatever he could find. On the days Scott was drunk, he would lock David in the basement with little food for three days. The days David spent his first year of highschool in fear, when everyone stared at David's scars and ask where he got those, he would jet out of the class with tears rolling down his face. David could never tell anyone why he had scars, because Scott would always give him this thret "If you tell anyone what i'm doing to you,you little bastered, you'll have to stay in foster care going to different places never seeing mom and dads grave ever again. Besides i could have said kicked you out of this house any time i wanted to i'm being nice." David hated the fact that Scott was right, so he did what Scott told him. David had a crush on the same girl sence he was in kindergarden and he knew that she had been with anyone. Before his parents died, David told them that he had a crush on this girl and that he was going to ask her out the start of 8th grade, and he wanted them to meet her. But before summer was over, his parents were killed in a crash from a drunk driver. David never asked her out, so he saw other guys ask her out when he was sitting in the corner. David didn't know the girl liked him too, but she was to shy to talk to him. The start of David's sophamore year shestarted to talk to him, and David was fine with that, so long as she didn't ask about the scars. David started to feel happy again, untill she asked him about the scars. David had been in love with this girl all his life, so David went against his brothers wishes and told the whole class, not caring if he'll never see her again, but he was happy that he got to talk to her. The minute he said that, Scott came in the class room to pick David up early for a doctors appointment. Scott showed no mercy when he saw David telling the whole class what he has been doing to, so he pulled out a knife and stabed him in the heart. The girl saw him do this right in front of her. She took the knife from Scott saying, "You killed the person i've been in love with my whole life, I have no reason to live anymore." She put the knife through her heart and lied right next to Davids body. Two hours later, she wakes up in a hospitle bed along side David. The doctor came in saying that they just made it there in time to save the both of them. David had asked the doctor about Scott and if he had to go away to foster care never seen the girl again. the doctor told him that his brother is in costidy and will be on trile soon, so David wasn't going anywhere for a while. The girl asked if David could live with her family. The doctor agreed and said he would get the paper work from child servces for her parents. David felt at ease knowing his brother was going away, he felt happier knowing he could spend more time with the girl.
