My son, I can only assume you either hate me or miss me, so allow me to clarify some things you may be wondering about with this letter. First, your mother cared about you. If she hadn't she would've abandoned you to an orphanage or the street instead of my parents. Second, you may think my abandonment was selfish. I say it was not. I could not care for you as you needed to grow up well. Can you think of me tutoring you? Tucking you in bed at night? Ensuring your safety and well-being throughout your childhood? I would have made a terrible father and you know that. Third, I do not want you to become what I have become. There is no glory in this. Learn a trade, find someone to care about, and forget about me. Give Angela my regards.
~Your Father
