Come listen my dears,
lend me your ears
As I tell you a story of tears.
In the town i was born,
everything weathered and worn
life trudged on through the years
Men toiled and taxed
While I fell through openings and cracks
silence deafening most of my years
The fires all burned,
i dreamed lovers were spurned
and dance angrily in the flames
My heart it was yearning,
for a world that was turning
but all that i spun were fears
Come now my children
Lean down your ears
let me speak softly
of this story of tears.
There was once a moment
i spent all my time
seeking these very same listening ears
Year after year
Each single spun fear
brought me closer to everyone
The fright was my carriage of night
and fueled by the worlds tears
Oh come all you children
you frightened young men
You women who think you're alone again
Lean down your heads dears!
I'll spin you your fears
And oh, i'll word them just so!
Off into the dark
of every heart
i send this story of tears!
