Yukio Aristole was walking home from the Hokage's office. How could they do this? And to his little brother? Oh god he wasn't going to take it well... and Tsuki. Everyone knew Kitsu loved only Tsuki. How was she supposed to take it? Yukio couldn't believe it.

So as he neared his house, every step made his heart weigh more and more, until it was too heavy for him to even move. He just stood there, on the lawn, staring.

"Yukio-san?" Tsuki asked as she and Kitsu neared him. It looked like the two had just came back from the park. Kitsu had dirt he was trying to get out of his hair, and Tsuki was carrying a shovel and pale.

As they grew closer, Yukio's face grew more hurt. "I-I'm so sorry." He whispered.

"Onii-san?" Kitsu asked. "Why are you sorry?"

"...Kitsu... Tsuki... sit..." Yukio sighed. the three of them sat down on the grass and listened to Yukio. Yukio cleared his throat. "Kitsu, your getting married."

Kitsu laughed. "I know. Tsuki's going to be my wife in three years."

"Not to Tsuki."

"What?"

Yukio whiped his neck. "...Your... getting an arrainged marrage. To a girl from the Hirakiro clan in the sand village."

Kitsu looked confused. "Why?"

"...That clan has been having problems with our village. The only way we can truse is if the head daughter marries someone from our village. when they showed her pictures and explinations of everyone... she chose you." Yukio frowned. "I tried to reason with her. I tried to explain to her that your heart belongs to Tsuki... but she woulnd't have it. She said she chose you, and that's that. Your getting married in a month."

Kitsu was furious. He stood up and began to yell. "I refuse! I will NOT marry someone I don't know! I will not marry at such a young age! I will not marry anyone but Tsuki!" He tried to walk away, but Yukio grabbed him.

"It's not up to you! You have to Kitsu! This is a matter of war!" Yukio yelled, pulling on Kitsu's arm.

"No!"

"Kitsu, please. Just listen! If you don't, that clan is declaring war on us. Now, their big, maybe not super strong, but strong enough that there will be death. Death! It won't be that bad!"

"But!"

"No! Your getting married!"

But Kitsu refused. He pushed off his brother and ran into the forrest next to their home. He would not marry someone he didn't love, or even know. He promised his eternal love to Tsuki, and that's who he was going to marry.

But, if there was going to be war... wouldn't he have to? Wouldn't it be better to break a promise than to let people die? Tsuki would understand. And yet again, he couldn't allow Tsuki to get hurt by this. She did nothing wrong, so why was she getting punished?

This was all so confusing to Kitsu. Should he marry and save lives? Or not and save his friendship.

Which was he going to choose?
