Kit sat in a limo outside the castle. "my lady, we are here." her driver said into the rear view mirror. "Yes I see that thank you" she patted his shoulder softly, before adjusting the mask on her face. It was a costume ball, for the Lords and Ladies of the land as introduction to the princes fiance. Her driver removed himself from the limo and walked around to her side of the car and opened the door. "My Lady, would you like me to escort you to the door?" "No, thank you. I can do this alone." she gave him a soft smile. She was not a Lady, far from, but she had managed to get a invitation. She stepped from the limo, and took a deep breath. Her ball gown matched the mask on her face, dark red with black trim and gold thread stitched into random designs. The gown consisted of a corset top and a long flowing skirt. Under the skirt she wore a pair of tight fitting pants tucked into black high heel boots. She had been a lady once, a play mate to the prince. She had loved him dearly during those early years and still did. She was 8 when her family was banned from the kingdom. It has been 12 long years since she had seen him and wondered how much she had changed. She nodded kindly to her driver before walking up the steps to the castle, showing her invitation to the guard and then stepping into a wonderfully decorated ball room.
