Hamasaki is an older boy from a high school, and he owns a motorbike. He is a great boxer. Hamasaki first entered the scene when he saw Lina crying and reading a letter from Minku. The next time he saw her crying and walking towards the river, he tackled her in attempt to stop her from doing something drastic.
From then on, he keeps popping up and aiding Lina whenever she needs help. It seems that Hamasaki has taken a liking towards Lina, even though he denies it. Hamasaki was really flirtatious in the manga, but in the anime, it was slightly toned down. He really cares for Lina and usually invites her to events like a boat ride or a concert (which was a drag because guess who was singing there? Hint - she has a star baton). Once Caren had tried flirting with him to make Lina jealous, but he turned her down.
Hamasaki is actually the descendant of a man who was saved by a mermaid.
