Logic and Emotion
Clash inside me once again
I want to make a decision
But I can't decide who wins
For I can grow to like her
But you, I already love
Her attempts to impress me
I kindly think nothing of...
But she is pure-hearted
Her intentions, I cannot spite
As she valiantly continues to battle
But has already lost this fight...
I have shielded her feelings
And learned to care for her
But not in romantic dealings
More like the friends that never were
Holding her in my arms
My thoughts never venture deep
Her emotions ignite!
While mine slowly fall asleep...
Life without you both
Now seems impossible to live
She asked for all my heart
But I only had half to give
One ruled by my emotion
Where your ignorance still resides
The other by my logic
With her perfection at its side
I wish that you had told me
Not to love you from the start
Could have saved myself the trouble
And a war torn heart
...And I could have made her happy
If you hadn't asked me to stay
Makes me wish that when I had first met you
I had just turned and walked away...
Clash inside me once again
I want to make a decision
But I can't decide who wins
For I can grow to like her
But you, I already love
Her attempts to impress me
I kindly think nothing of...
But she is pure-hearted
Her intentions, I cannot spite
As she valiantly continues to battle
But has already lost this fight...
I have shielded her feelings
And learned to care for her
But not in romantic dealings
More like the friends that never were
Holding her in my arms
My thoughts never venture deep
Her emotions ignite!
While mine slowly fall asleep...
Life without you both
Now seems impossible to live

Makes me wish that when I had first met you

The beginning was explained by the time it ended, and the clashing feelings really make me think deeply. The last stanza ended the poem perfectly, in my opinion. I really enjoy reading all your journal entries, Xebi.
I hope to read more soon. biggrin
