In Your Absence
"I'll wait for you." she says to him,
He waves at her beyond the grim.
"I'll wait for you!" she shouts it high,
Through the fog and werewolf sky,
Pass the trees of death's embrace
And through the cracks of the barren face.

"I'll wait for you..." her whisper dies.
Somewhere, something wicked cries
And releases the bog and fills the swamp,
Makes it bubble lump by lump.
"I'll wait for him?... of course I must..."
Eyes look on she does not trust.
Behind that bush what lurks in wait?
Perhaps her love can stop this fate.
"I'm waiting for him!..." she warns her doubts.
Her gentle, uninviting shout,
Short-lived and suddenly alive again.
A new beginning in her untimely end.

"I'll wait for him... Ha!" she laughs at the thought,
Convinced by the wisdom seven unaged years brought.
He'll return to the site, in her memory, one day
And stumble upon a note from first waiting May-

"In the event that you've returned too late
Please know that I died in wait..."

I forgot to comment on this one when I said about Impossible Decision! D:

I'll start off by saying that 'werewolf sky' sounds so magical in this poem, and the rhyming of 'death's embrace' and 'barren face' was well written. And the part where her whisper dies and something wicked cries feels like it could cause a storm to roll in the distance when I read it. XD

The only thing is that nothing rhymes with the last line, 'she warns her doubts.'

But! Maybe you did that on purpose to show that there is no last line because something has happened to her, or she's given up on him and moved on? Just a thought. :3

O: I really like how you edited the ending! Now something finally rhymes with "doubts." (No, that's not all I ever cared about. XD I love this entire thing.)

Reading your poems makes me want to create some of my own~ I might post some in a little bit if I can find my poetry book.

To answer your PM, I've been on a roller coaster ride. Some days are really bad and vice versa, but today has been nice despite being sick.
Exams are boring. D: It's not that they're hard, it's quite the opposite. I just have better things to do than sit there for three hours and take tests.
But anyway, how are you doing? :3
