Dinner Party and Character Archetypes
Quick entry here, and it's back to studying.
I'm never quite satisfied with my characters. Never. I think the best character I've ever made was Freya, and that particular roleplay didn't even have a profile skeleton. I like playing guys because I'm always worried that I'll put too much of myself in my female characters. But that doesn't really seem to be an issue, as I've found out. I can't personally relate to any of my characters. If I was invited to a dinner party with all of my characters, I wouldn't show up.

So this is why this entry is dedicated to all my current active characters.

I based Lenore off an image of a rich boarding school girl, but I think she's matured a bit in my eyes. She is flirty, but not foolish. Likable in her own right, but a bit repressed, despite her dottiness. She is spunky, reserved at work, and a girl who likes to make comments that initially sound naive or childish, but are mostly said for humor and not because she actually has a simple mind. She's doesn't have a serious attitude.

I think I base my characters off of character archetypes. Either the long existing ones, or archetypes that I encounter in my real life... in fiction, movies... I make characters off of people I've seen for five seconds.
I could never base off an actual character if I tried. If I ever did, my character would turn out TOTALLY different whether I like it or not.

I saw Eufrasia as a tough woman who's brusque but also kind of relaxing to be around. She has a simple life now, but prefers it that way. Her toughness almost makes her comforting. Plus she's protective.

I saw Laurence as a paranoid cop who is temperamental and prone to shouting on-duty, but a bit more laid back when he's playing cards with his friends. Okay. He might sound a bit bad now, but I'm going to make him happy when progress gets made on his shipping. He's sort of gruff, but in a different way than Eufrasia. More on these two later.

I saw Caspian as a free spirited guy who gives zero resistance to life, "following the river wherever it goes. Well. This one is self explanatory. In a way, his heart is almost mechanical. That is, until he meets someone who can change that. Definitely bold and fearless, but doesn't get close to much people.
