The Technosexual.

Back in action.
Wow it's been ages, 3 years since the last log in here. I didn't keep these records in my Junior year did I? I'll have to look back through those melancholic posts to see what events match.

Anyways, it's time for a new turn. Where to begin...

Life's so much better out of Clarence, I can start with that.

I get to live in a dorm full of dorks and Asians, just what I had hoped for. I wound up tripled my first semester, but it turns out that was a good thing, because the 2 guys I got tripled with are huge WoW dorks as well. We can talk about anything together. We all do our best to keep the room clean and respect each others desires. That worked out great.

SBU has leveled the social field. It no longer matters who your parents are or how much you can provide, how much income reaches you. It's a relief that I've taken advantage of, hell, I'm an event coordinator for my building's eboard. Who'dve ever thought I'd go do that and do it well. It was funny how I got there though.
I originally wanted to run for secretary, and to apply for a position you needed to give a small speech in front of Hall Council. Chris my RA that jerk volunteered me for Treasurer before I even got to present myself for Secretary. As it turned out, I didn't get elected for either of those, but all the RAs in the audience kept nominating me for the rest of the positions, until I finally was elected as an EC.
But that's that. Eboard's fun, it's like a good family, something I never quite got in my household. Right now I'm visiting the room I once had felt trapped in for so long, typing this as I delay getting sleep for yet another day of work tomorrow.

Work's great, it's like I never left. It was funny, I got called by Brenda the supervisor the other day, and she said something like "I was wondering if you could work Jan 2nd, You see we think the state is going to come on the 3rd, and you'll be working the 31st, the 1st, and the 3rd". Of course I said yes I take any hours I can get an never turn down a request, but I didn't really get what she was saying until hours later.
You see, she wouldn't have layed out my whole shedule if she just wanted me to fill in one day. It would have been "Are you availible to work Jan 2nd the 4-8 shift?" - "yes I'll do that" "Ok, see you then honey". What was being implied was "The state is coming, I want you here cleaning up to make sure we're in top condition for any date that the state might show up". Was actually kinda flattering when I got the message. Great to hear.

Oh, right, almost failed to mention. Today was a great day! After I got back from a rather relaxed work day I found a letter for myself on the endtable. Opening it up revealed a check for 560$ from SBU. Turns out that among the 2k I had to pay the campus out of pocket, I somehow overpayed by that much! I'm going to use some of this unexpected bonus to get a nice graphics card for the computer I'm building when I get back on campus. Mother got me the motherboard for christmas, but I have no way of transporting a whole full size desktop back to school.

WoW is going very well right now. I got in a really exceptional group of players, we're currently ranked 16th best guild on the server because of our efforts in the latest raid, which is pretty good. They love me as a healer. Donno why the meters only show that I'm decent, but I'll take the affection while it's there. I've gotta grind out 10 hours of heroics in the next 2 days to get the gear for my paladin to heal in the guild's group 2/3. Narsys is an amazing guild leader, I largely do it to support his future goals. He wants to do 25m raids, which right now is a no go for me but once I build my new machine I can perform in one without hardware limitations. Turns out I finally beat Nicolette in the raiding front, but only because she quit to play SWTOR. But that's going well for her, I'm pleased she's found a better game to play. I'll probably stick to WoW as long as this guild wants me to, might jump over and try out SW if the guild raid drive breaks.

But anyways, that's for current events. I haven't been on this site forever, but as I learned the harder way it may be better to keep a digital journal than a print one, because the print one you can make the mistake of leaving it behind when you move. So I might continue to make some mind clearing late night entries like this one in the time to come. Anyways, this site is cuter than some of the alternatives. Brings back some potentially more comforting memories that I didn't want to drop.
