Silver Mountain
By Dominick Cortes
You were inspired
By our former God
To lead and be strong
How silly your plead was.
And when we lost our ancestral home
How you whined of chains
Glass on the Hill which became your Mountain
Which soon became my Hell.
Slowly, with egotistical friends
You grew to new heights
Swore to save us all when you took flight
How wrong your blight.
And when the time came for
This Mouse to save the Lion
I did,
Only to regret my actions
You ignorant, self-centered
Pig headed, blind fool
Insulted the hole that you crawled out of
Fake your pathetic sympathy
Just to have the audacity to say you tried.
So go climb your lonely mountain
No one will ever look down at you ever again
Except me, who you will always fail.
