Pain

My heart is heavy with pain
I feel lonely inside
My heart is breaking
This mourning wont seem to subside

I see others laughing and smiling
I sit in the corner wearing my mask
They look so happy
I paint on my smile so no one has to ask

Why do they have love?
I hide myself in the dark
I fear the love they cherish
Love is a poison that leaves a deep mark

They taunt me with their joy
They don't have my many scars
I have been hurt so much
I keep my emotions locked behind metal bars

Love will tugg on my shattered soul
It will call out to me
But I wont listen
I know love is pain's immortal key
