I asked my mom what she wants for mother's day this year, a common practice with me, when I don't know what to get her. She say's she wants an original poem for me... which sucks, cus I have a problem with writing happy poetry, and it would be terrible Mother's Day present if it was depressing.
So I need to write something cheery, motivating and light... but poetry has to come from the heart, and I don't want to write something just about mothers. I would really like to write something about having a good day or ... well anything not depressing...
neutral I cause my mom enough worry without papering my dramatic, depressing poetry all over the house.
I even tried to write a poem about having good days or bad days being up to choice, but it still turned out to heavy for a present... -sigh-
I might just have to fall back on fluttery poetic nonsense about summer breezes and fuzzy truths.
I want to write something real for her, but how do I do that, in my present state, without calling on all my darkness?
PS: the poem I mentioned;
"Every day The road splits in front of me One side is long, winding and rocky, The other is straight and soft as silk
Every day I choose a path left or right, hard or easy And at the end, each day, the two paths merge at the same point Taking me to the same place either way
Every day I choose"
It's even more free-form than my usual style. LOL 3nodding
