Subject B.31564m - "Infernal Thrall"
authored by [REDACTED], sources in file AA.r3452f, AA.r3452g, AR.a11101b, et al.
SUMMARY: The servants of archfiends, typically created in large numbers as soldiers and servants for their lords. They are bound to their masters by means of baroque infernal magic, yet when their masters die, the contract between master and thrall remains-- along with its vacated role of "master".
It would seem that magic, like nature, abhors a vacuum. The master's role can be inhabited by anyone with sufficient power and knowledge to compel the thrall to reveal his true name. Thereafter, the contract remains in effect until the new master either releases the thrall or dies.
Thrall appear to be unkillable, but they are not invulnerable. Though power and endurance vary between individuals, most would be incapacitated by an injury that would incapacitate a human. They heal quickly in comparison to other races, and are notable for the rosy, mucous substance their bodies produce in response to injury.
LIFESPAN: Unknown. Our point-of-contact agents suspect that the magic of the contract itself may animate the thrall, and that the thrall will survive as long as this magic remains, since killing them with weapons, poison, or other physical means seems impossible. Binding them, banishing them back to the netherworld, or wounding them to the point where they cannot act are the preferred methods of dealing with these creatures. See references in source AA.r3452g for pertinent details from [REDACTED]'s account of the information extraction session with Individual 4.
PHYSICAL TRAITS: Vary according to the whims of the archfiend who gave them life. Thrall created in "batches" tend to have similar characteristics and abilities, however. All of them have horns or other monstrous features, and are easily seen for what they are unless skillful glamour is employed.
REPRODUCTION: None documented.
CULTURE: Little is specific to the race, but among "freed" thrall, hedonism is rife, and lucrative, self-serving and exploitative employment (as in finance, assassination, piracy, theft, and the slave and sex trades) is the norm.

The misadventures of a really shitty demon. Mind the sudden changes in writing style, since it tends to sound like whatever I'm reading at the moment.
