Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixer
Damn, Desperate Housewives is on. I wanted to watch that tonight....

Anyway, I've decided to do a review.

The game is okay. I started it today, and I'm not very far, but I have an idea of it so far. It follows the plot of the anime. To an extent. No flashback like in episode 3 to whatever, it just goes along in the present, changing little details to make it easier to transition I guess. There's also some mystery girl in the church/cathedral you meet Cornello in. And a fish girl... Now that I've finished the first "episode," I still haven't seen the humunculi. =? Makes me sad...

Anyway, on to the graphics. I'm rather dissapointed. It looks a lot like Dragon Quest VIII actually, there's outlines on the characters, lines to show where the hair ends.. Et cetera. And the mouths don't move. I mean, it just looks a little weird.

For gameplay, well... The whole game seems too straight forward. You can't go into buildings (You can barely get close to walls...), there's no shops as far as I can see, I haven't tried talking to bystanders yet, so I'm not sure if you can do that... Battling is okay. Pretty easy. You can just punch away to your hearts content, just gotta aim right. You can also use healing items in battle, which really helped me out. >.> You can also use alchemy (which I thought would've been really confusing) by using certain button combinations. Pretty easy. I just have a sucky controller so it's harder. You get bonus points as you level up (Also like Dragon Quest VIII) to strengthen things like attack, defense, alchemy, et cetera. It's kind of bad though, because you only get a minimal amount of points and you have to use them for both characters.

I don't really feel like giving this a rating. I like it, but there's stuff about it I dislike as well. So no rating for you.

And don't be like my friend Josie when she goes to the movies and think, "Oh my god! We can't go to that movie, it got horrible ratings! D=" because that would be stupid. I probably gave it a sucky review anyways. Hehe.

Haha, I remember hearing her say that.

Guess I'll play the game before I buy it, then. If I would have done that, I might not have boughten the Inuyasha RPG. (The stupid turn-based fighting style and ALL the random attacks get really boring)

Games based on shows and stuff usually suck a**.

Example: I own the neopets game.
    ... I know.
But it does suck. The graphics are miserable, it's also very straightforward, and there's almost no enviroment interaction. It's a lot like the Zelda games actually, except way suckier. A lot of sidequesting and grass slashing.

I'll pass on your review to my brother, who wants the game.
