Pulling back at a safe distance, her eyes cast to the ground as she listened. She pulled her medium-length blue hair into pigtails, her violet eyes matching today's pair of glasses. She had dressed in blue jeans and a deep purple sweater, her shoes were a pair of flimsy blue flip-flops.

"So where do you live Shouji?"

Moko's voice was dripping sweet and it turned Ami's stomach with annoyance. The blonde had obviously developed some type of attraction to the boy, and when she discovered they were going to meet Shouji to work on their project she went all out on her wardrobe.

"My own apartment smack in the middle of somewhere."

She laughed lavishly, flipping a strand of pale blonde hair from her shocking green eyes. She wore her hair down today, different from her usual side-pulled ponytail. Her flashy beret was gone and her poofy dresses were tossed away for casual black sacks and a ruby red blouse. Her nails were brightly polished and her boots reflected light as she clicked down the sidewalk in them. All of this she had done in a rush that morning especially for Shouji. Pff.

"Oh Shouji do you really have your own place?" Her voice was a sickening awe.

Yoko Ami dispised the tone with every bone in her body. She had the likely mind to protest against Oshima's unusual behavior but kept her lips sealed for the time being. Regardless she couldn't help but wonder if that girl had so many men after her already then why should this boy- the one Ami actually admitted to being somewhat handsome ( for she is not the boy-crazed lunatic)- would be the one she'd chase after? Either way Ami wasn't jealous, she just didn't appreciate the "third-wheel" feeling she was recieving now.

He nodded in response to Moko's question, shrugging a little as his eyes cast to the crystal-blue sky.

"No big deal." he replied, placing his hands into his pockets.

They walked in silence for a moment, Ami still drifting behind them in an awkward position. Her violet eyes shifted to Shouji. He was wearing jeans and sneakers, an onyx-colored turtleneck with those same dark sunglasses that was partially covered by the flip in his corn-yellow hair. He tilted his head back.

"Yoko," his voice was even and cool, "what are you doing back there?"

Oshima Moko looked back at her friend as if seeing her for the first time in her life, letting out a nauseating giggle and waving his attention from Ami's direction.

"Oh don't fret over that silly girl. She's just shy. Hasn't been able to talk to her crush since grade school. It's so sad."

He glanced down at her, "Oh?"

The jade-eyed girl smiled broadly then clung to his arm, both walking at a matching pace and looking like an absolutely perfect couple. Two tall, lanky, completely fit blondes... As Shouji shot one last ligering glance at Ami, she flushed with both envy and frustration, glad to see their destination was finally in sight.

Dog Town: they had discovered each of them enjoyed animals and decided this would be the best place to visit for their report.

Moko reluctantly let go of his arm as he held the door open for the two girls. Oshima-chan breezed by with elegant ease but Yoko-san felt uncomfortably close, knowing those looming gray eyes were burning holes into her skin. He stepped aside, closing the door behind him as he smirked at the pig-tailed girl before moving on.

Violet-eyed Yoko stared at his back, flushed, before taking in her surroundings. Her jaw hung slack, her eyes widened a bit.

A room full of every type of animal, birds flying across the ceiling. Cats were tossing yarn in cages, dogs drank water behind fences. Rabbits hopped. Mice nibbled. Snake slithered. Lizards rested. Spiders crawled. Every single animal, cawing and hissing, barking and meowing, until the place was a bustling animal sanctuary.

They each split into their own direction, trailing off to awe at the first animal their eyes fell upon. Ami immediately connected with a tabby, hazel eyes glaring lazily into violet orbs. Ami released a soft gasp, beding down to scratch its orange-brown fur and admire its swishing, bushy tail.

Moko was satisfied with her chocolate-colored bunny, picking it up and cuddling the warm softness to her body. The rabbit looked entirely content, shutting large black eyes to fall asleep.

Blonde Shouji found himself a matching dog, both glowing golden in the light. The dog panted and sat, enjoying the long gentle fingers that tickled his ears with an expert grace.

Ami dashed over to the others, the little tabby trailing behind her. Moko sauntered to them as well holding a slumbering, euphoric bunny.

"I want it!" they declared in unison, nodding soon after to the responses.

Each was in a giggly bliss with his own animal, hugging the pet close and rubbing its back. Ami wasn't sure if her mother would mind having a cat but she owed it to her. Think of it as a well deserved gift for a forgotten birthday or something.

"Ich!" Shouji declared while finally leaving the store, "Because you're the number one pet."

"How clever," Moko was undeniably saccharine, " I shall call mine Nee!"

Ami began to feel left out again, immediately stepping up, "My cat shall be San. Not just to follow suit with you guys, but for respect as well. Unlike you two for me I respect my pet."

Shouji grinned at her and she smiled back. A less-than-pleased Moko rolled her eyes. Ami couldn't help but smile wider to her reaction.

"Honestly Yoko," she complained once Shouji was gone, "Can't you handle yourself around a boy?"


((Ok that's it for chapter four. I edited the story quite a bit because it was too much like Chobits and that's not what I want. AT ALL. So yeah, I had my friend read it a lil and point out the Chobits stuff and this is the outcome. I hope you enjoyed it and please do tell me. 3nodding whee I <3 joo. And DO NOT miss Chapter 5 when I go into little details about the artibots and Ami's father! It will be a bit of a shocker. WOOT! xd ))
