One Saturday, an adorable seventeen year old girl named Jen had to rise early in the morning to go to a counciling session. This session was just as depressing and tiring as all the others, but none the less, she managed to keep herself together throughout the whole session. On the way home, she had Wendy's for lunch. Upon arriving home, she discovered her "dad" had arived home and her "twin brother" was already awake. They already had full command over the television, so she settled for spending the day on the computer yet again. Then, her friends got in contact with her about going to see a movie. For the next few hours, they tried to figure out how who was getting where and when. Finally it was time to leave. Jen ran about scatter-brained trying to remember what all she needed to do, then she called her "mom" and told her that she had found a ride. Jordan arrived shortly after and they rode off to the movie theater. They met Sabrina just outside of the theater and decided to watch the five o'clock showing of The Davince Code. Once inside and seated, they tried to contact Sian again, by forcing Jen to use her cell phone, which she greatly fears. Sian had finally gotten home for work and had not been told about Jordan calling twice early about going. She quickly got ready and rushed over. She found Jordan, Sabrina, and Jen all sitting in the dark, farthest-back corner of the theater. Then they all watched the movie, with very many silly comments and sick jokes throughout. Afterwards, they were all about to go home when suddenly one of them suggests going to Barnes & Noble since it was so close to the theater. They all agreed that that sounded like fun, so off they went. They had fun admiring and reading and skimming through lots of mangas, both pretty and not. Jen and the others kept noticing people they recognized there. Jen saw a few mangas she decided she would like to look up online, to see if there was a way she could read more without having to deal with money and transportation, such as a lovely little manga called Chibi Vampire. By this time, everyone was feeling poorly in some way or another. Jen had a minor headache, Sian had a headache as well and was feeling ill. Sabrina was feeling sick too, and Jordan, despite not saying what was wrong, seemed to be feeling very poor. So, Sian decided that it would be a good idea to buy jordan some food and a drink. Jordan ate and drank happily while they all sat around talking and joking in the cafe area. Jen suddenly remembered that she was supposed to call her "mom" if they decided to go to the bookstore or anything else, and remembered that she had opted not to call early when everyone else had called their parents. Noticing that it was getting dark out, she turned to the others and asked what time it was. Sabrina replied that it was close to 9. Jen panicked. Should she call and try to explain? or should she deal with it when she got home? but then again, it wasnt that big of a deal, since her "mom" would most likely have figured that she was at Barnes & Noble. When Jordan was finished eating, they all congregated in the travel section, at which point Jen started to feel a little depressed. She tried to ignore it and eventually pushed it aside all together. Sian ran off to another manga section, and Jen ran after her once she saw where she had gone. Sian ran off again, this time in search of a bathroom. Later, Jen realized she was all alone and went back to the travel section, but no one was there! In confusion and fear, she started searching all the areas she could think of that they might be and then just wandered around helplessly. Then she spotted Jordan's bright green jacket in the foreign languages section. She ran over and plopped down and asked where the others had gone. But Jordan didnt know. Then Sian and Sabrina appeared out of nowhere, Jen repeted the question, and Sian said with a "duh" tone that they had gone to the bathroom. Then they all started heading down and out of the foreign language aisle and into the new age and astrology aisle. Jen loved this aisle, since she has a tendency to get sucked into this subject. She noticed a book about birthdates, picked it up, and began reading it. She was hooked instantly. She read hers and then showed Jordan, since the other two had run off yet again. She and Jordan were both hooked. Sabrina and Sian returned a little while later, at which point Sabrina was pulled in as well. Sian was the only one not pulled in by it. Instead, she was addicted to a certain manga. They all sat around looking at the astrology and starsign books, except Sian, who was reading her manga. Suddenly, in the midst of their laughter and reading, a voice breaks the joy with a tone of utter annoyance and rage. "SIAN!!", her very-Christian mother spoke from behind Jen, who had been reading off birthdate and love-life information rather loudly. Sian recieved a small portion of a lecture and the demand of saying good-bye and leaving instantly and then was forced out of the store. Then Jen noticed a book on Sex related to Star signs. She picked it up and began reading it. Shortly after, Jordan and Sabrina picked up the other two copies and they all laughed merrily at it, while people, young and old, known and unknown, walked by. A while later, they all decided they needed to hurry home. Jen was worried about getting a lecture when she arrived home, since she was supposed to at least call, if not be home, four hours before. Jordan dropped Sabrina and Jen off and then rushed homeward. Jen entered her house, unsure of what would be waiting for her inside. Inside her "dad" was watching tv without any notice or care that she even existed and her mother was standing in the kitchen. Her mother asked her very calmly and rather non-shalantly(sp) where she had been. Jen replied "where do you think?" as she stolled over the bathroom, undoing her pants. When she finished up in the bathroom, she filled her mother in on a few of the things they'd done that night and then complained of the headaches that she always ends up with after being around people. She gave up on the tv and was trying to fall asleep on one of the couches in their almost-pure white living room when she began thinking of typing up a journal entry in the third-person. This idea just wouldn't be subdued until she ran up the stairs, jokingly yelling behind her that it was her "mom's" fault and that she hated her brain for attacking when she was so tired and had a headache. Then, Jen logged onto her account on her computer and began typing up a journal entry all about how she survived arriving home four hours later than when she was supposed to and how her "parents" didn't seem to give a damn that might not have ever come home.
