Seven Sins

Whether the interests the individual sought were for self learning, exploring new things from the mundane, a shot at romance, giving them a simple boost throughout their lives, or even personal gain and greed, this store had it. There waited an old man, back hunched, with a long nose and thin lips. His hair was pure white, combed back against his scalp, eyes a deep milky blue, but a strange and slightly black ring of where the pupil should be in the blind iris. His fingers had a few rings, and even a few markings that looked like time worn tattoo's reaching out towards his nails, and wearing modern day dress pants and a button up shirt, looking rather dapper despite the way time has treated him. A gold chain hung from a velvet vest that he had folded on the oak counter top in his shop, his fingers laced together as he seemed to stare about the vastness of his shop in a lower level of the city.

The sound of the bell would always draw his attention, his body adjusting to the best of his abilities. He knew where everything sat, where he moved the stones, the thick owl quills and stained glass jars that held small baubles and objects. The tiny little vials with crushed stones and scented dust. The twirl of smoke whipped through the air with the push of the large door, the incense of Sandlewood and Sage lingering, giving the shop a feel of the unknown.

"Ah.. Welcome. Welcome to the Dwelling."

His hands opened up, showing the world around him that he called home, his crooked smile adding a strange and uncomfortable feel to his aged body. He waved his hands towards an assortment of stones, Gold Tigers eye, Amethyst, Topaz, and so on, all arranged to catch eyes. "Do you seek something attractive to the eyes? Or maybe to some herbal remedies?" He used his other hand, gesturing towards a plethora of herbal assortments. It looked like normal weeds or vegetables, even roots to some peoples eyes, some caught in jars and turning the insides to moss, leaves tinted blood red, others giving off the faintest glow in their cases.

"Or... do you seek something more towards knowledge and literature..?"

He turned his head, looking into the direction of his high tower of book shelves. Dark, hardcover spines riddling the walls that had a small hint of dust to the surface. Patterns and other designs etched into the sides, branded, placed diligently, some simply plain. Other books rested among the tables in different locations, showing they've been read and looked into. A person would only be able to tell just how old these tomes are by reading them, feeling the pages textures, and seeing the language and other literature written inside.

"Whatever you seek, I will most certainly have in supply, and I assure you, nothing here will leave you feeling underwhelmed." He seemed to take pride in this, gesturing with his digit at the individual who stepped in. Despite the aged appearance, his worn eyes and voice, he still had a strange air about him. It felt welcoming... but something was off.

The old man took his hands down to his desk, taking a seat at the tall chair. Above his chair, was one odd object. It was held in a glass case, with two crossed quills and a small Vial in between the two. The book seemed to have seven different colors striking the surface in different lavish patterns, and two separate chains on top and bottom, keeping the glass case closed. Whatever the book was, it seemed to stick out like a sore thumb in the well organized and strangely obscure shop of unknown. A deep chuckle escaped the old man as he drummed his digits to the surface of the oak table, and cracked another smile..

"So then... What brings you here? And how shall I enlighten you?"
