I nodded and waved. Aelia chuckled. "Lunch is ready in about ten minutes, by the way" she said, and slid back into the kitchen. I binked. Lunch? It was three in the afternoon! "How're my brains coming along, hon?" Kadargo asked, heading into the kitchen, leaving Dodger and I alone. "I"ll take you to the main room" she said, and led me through a maze of corridors, each lined with doors who led to who knew what. Screams and giggles and shouts of "DIE BOSS ZOMBIE OF LEVEL SIX!!" eminated from the doors. I stayed close to Dodger, somewhat scared of what happened behind some of those doors. We finally made it into a glorious looking room, filled with couches and pillows and... panties? Many people were sprawled on the couches, all odd in their own way. One of them was singing, rather amazingly. Her tanned skin shone in the golden rays of the sun that crept through the windows. Her violet hair was pinned up precariously, corkscrew curls sprawling across her face. She opened a purple eye and glanced at Dodger and I. "Who's that, Dodger?" she asked. Dodger chuckled. "This is... uh..." She looked at me. "What was your name, again?" I blinked. I hadn't even said my name! "Snoo P. Kyd, reporter for the Gaia Times" I said, extending a hand to the purple haired girl. She took it with slender fingers, smiling. "Aliana Mionoko. Just call me Ali." I nodded, smiling. Her hands were soft. She sat up, stretching. "Have you seen Ace around, Dodger?" she asked, "He was in my hair, but then I fell asleep and he was gone..." Dodger shrugged, her slender shoulders popping up and down. As if on cue, someone crept behind Ali, red hair and red eyes glistening. He grinned, and jumped. In an instant and a blur he turned from a tall man into a tiny plushie, squirming in Ali's locks. I blinked, somewhat startled. Ali giggled, patting the red plushie's head. "This is Ace." she said. The plushie waved with a fabricked arm, chuckling faintly. I smiled, waving back, and glancing around. "Well, you can make your way around the room, Snoo" Dodger said, "I'm going t go find Peaches. I'm bored" she said, and turned. I watched her go, but she didn't make it to the door. A pink blur dashed down from the stairs and pinned Dodger to the ground, sharp teeth grinning. Dodger giggled. "I was looking for you!" she said, biting the pink thing's red clown nose. The pink thing snickered, nibbling on Dodger's neck. I turned away, blushing profusely. Ali watched me, chuckling. "They do that all the time. Aelia... have you met her? Well, she joins in all the time" she said. I nodded, sitting down on one of the free couches. Pulling out my handy dandy... NOTEBOOK!, I clicked my pen and started to scribble something down. "How long have you been a resident in the mansion, Ali?" I asked. "I was one of the first people here" she said, playing with her white satin scarf, which hugged her body all the way down to her feet. I nodded, writing it down. "And what's made you stay for so long?" Ali smiled. "Everyone who's ever been here." she said, "I love it here. It's so random and so warm. This entire house is a family. Everyone knows everyone" She smiled blissfully, the white wings that floated near her curls fluttering. Ace smiled, batting at one of the wings. "I've been here for a while too," he said, his voice rather high pitched and squeaky. "Ali's one of my best friends in here." he added affectionately, smiling down at his Head Buddy. I chuckled, scribbling something down. "The house has its squabbles every now and then, but we always kiss and make up. Literally" she said with a sigh, glancing over at the pink thing and Dodger who were having a lot of fun in the pile of underwear. I coughed. "Who's the pink one?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, that's Peaches the Clown." Ali said "We just call her Peaches, Peachy, Peachu-" "Crazy Pink Thing" Ace chimed in. I chuckled, nodding. All of a sudden, I felt a dark presence hovering over me. I looked up, and it was as if I just looked death in the eye. He was tall, dark, and looked like he was about to collapse with all the accessories he was wearing. "Don't... quote... PICTURES!!" he sputtered out in a New Zealandish accent, his lower left eyelid twitching. Ali giggled, and watched as he looked like he was about to pounce on me. He crouched, and almost jumped until a purpled hair girl smacked him over the head with a rolled up newspaper. "BAD ORCON!" she snapped, her voice spewing out an Australian accent. Orcon whimpered, looking up at the girl. "But baby..." he whined. The girl shook her head. "Behave" she ordered, waving the newspaper in his face. He frowned, glaring at me. Ali giggled. "That's Bec," she explained, "She's his girlfriend, and master. Aren't they cute?" I stared at the two as they slinked out of the main room, loosening my tie. That was twice I was almost consumed.
