I had to write a rant about some thing for Creative Writing so here it is:
I HATE Fat loss pill commercials. Leptoprin, Leptorpril all that crap! It’s point less and a major waste of money. The names are generic, all starting with lepto or some other word meaning ‘fat’. The commercials are exaggerated and deceitful. There always on, its like the people at the TV stations have nothing better to do then make you feel fat! The people in the commercials have been under the knife too many times, some even shine from all the plastic.
The pills never work as well as they say they will. They make it look like you’ll lose hundreds of pounds, when really you lose around 5 pounds in 3 months. If you look at the bottom it says, “Normally only (insert amount of weight not worth paying $400 to lose) lbs is lost.” And the ladies blink every 3 seconds and it makes you think there lying and have over rehearsed their lines.
The diagrams are completely fake! Just a marketing ploy, exaggerated and made to make you want to buy it. The most common one is Leptopril. The diagram shows an unnaturally skinny person; too skinny very few people ever have that body type. Then it gives situations that may cause weight gain, i.e. Having children, stress at work, but the amount of weight gained is extreme it makes a 50 lb looking person gain about 350 pounds. Then it shows that the pill magically removes all the weight gained and there back to the ‘ideal’ person of 50 lbs. NO PILL WORKS LIKE THAT!!!
All the commercials do is make you feel fat and hate yourself. They make you feel that if you don’t buy this product then you don’t disserve to live. So people spend hundreds of dollars on sugar pills and never loss any weight, thus they feel stupid and used and most of the people who would buy into this would be emotional eaters so they eat more and get fatter. I’m thinking these companies are in league with McDonalds, they make you buy a product doomed never to work, then you feel bad for wasting your money and go eat fatty foods from McDonalds.
The ladies in the commercials could never have weight more then 10 lbs because it looks like you could grab their baggy shirts and throw them a New York block. They have the ‘ideal’ everything, hair, weight, teeth and makeup, thus making ever one else feel bad about themselves. Most of them have enough plastic in them to put a toy factory out of business. They shine brighter then the sun and I bet they melt if they stay outside to long.
