MH, Friday 7 Jan 2005, night

I am a phan. I have read the book multiple times. I have seen the play (it was years ago, but it was my first on Broadway). I saw the new movie. I am currently listening to the new soundtrack for the umpteenth time. I know that I love poor Erik, and that Raoul is an annoying little brat.

For anyone wondering what I could possibly be refering to, I love Le Fantome de l'Opera, The Phantom of the Opera.

And why do I love OG? Couldn't tell you. Maybe it's because I have a thing for the bad guys in stories. Maybe it's because Gaston Leroux is just so cool. It might be the mystery. But I think that the love story might have something to do with it.

I admire how Christine tries to balance her love of Raoul (the ****ing ***** stare ) with her very different love for Erik ( heart ). It is obvious how much she cares for both of them, and how she wants to have both without letting either of them kill the other.

And the rivalry between Erik ( heart ) and Raoul ( xp ). The whole wanting-to-kill-each-other thing, classic romance novel, but it isn't.

I have two words for everyone: Read it.

And two more: poor Erik. crying
