The only word I could imagine, or even say was "whoa". The Council room was the biggest room I'd ever seen anywhere. There was so much space in there, I think I could have fit 30 plus people in it. As I looked around, I could see the pillars that held the roof above their heads. Their windows, twenty of them I counted, were all facing Coruscant's activities. It was really an amazing sight to see.
Then I noticed the Jedi Masters. They were all wearing flowing brown robes with hoods. Beneath that layer, each of them wore tunics within the shades of brown and cream. Their trousers were the same color as their tunics, but their boots were a darker shade. I saw their leather belts hugging their waist and at the side, their lightsabers. Then I thought of all the wonderous things wence I would receive mine.
There were twelve of them, all sitting around in an almost complete circle. They sat comfortably on their respected seats with their robes opened. They looked at us as we walked to the middle of the circle. There were many faces I did not recognize, but then I saw the two from yesterday. "Allow me to introduce to you all Manta Devix." My master said to the council. Master Ben and Master Sean both nodded to me after my master introduced me. "Good afternoon," I replied with a timid, small, voice.
"Is she the one of who you spoke about, Master Winsten?" An old, white haired human asked from the left of us. "Indeed she is Master Solo. She was the one the Sith Apprentice targeted." I shot a look at my master next after hearing this. "I am glad you got to her before they did," A different Jedi Master stated now to our right. As they conversed, my mind continued on what my master stated. It was I that the Sith apprenticed targetted? I was the reason for the two to come to Dantooine and not to investigate my friend and her family's death? I was indeed shocked, and someone irked to find out the truth.
As I thought to myself, I did not notice Master Ben Skywalker look at me. He was trying to feel me out, trying to figure out what I was thinking. "Young Manta, forget what your Master revealed - or not revealed- to you." That snapped my attention back to the room. I looked at my Master, but he looked at Master Skywalker. "Yes we knew that your friend's family had been murdered by the Sith, but it was to get to you." He added. I stood silent. I did not know what to say at that point. "However, since yesterday I felt what Master Winsten had told us when he first found you." I looked up at Master Skywalker, trying to comprehend what he meant. "You have a lot of pontential to you, Manta. Potential to serve the Force and it's civilians it protected. That is why Master Winsten took you."
"However," the Jedi Master Solo interrupted, "I believe she is too old. Seven years is enough to have been prone to emotions that would lead to the dark side." He stated. "That may be true, but she can control them as how our forefathers did when they first started out being Jedi at an even older age." This was my master's saying. At that moment I knew he wanted me to be a Jedi. True he was a Master himself, but the Masters on the Council had more authority over he. To be able to debate my control of emotions against the Council prove to me that he wanted me to be a Jedi.
"Though that can be said, Master Winsten, what proof do you have?" This was a female Jedi Council Member that asked this. She had long flowing brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. Though her looks were pretty, I could feel she can be as cold as ice. She reminded me of my aunt.
"She had the opportunity to slay the same sith apprentice that slew her friends and family. She was enraged like I have never felt before, but she took control and put the saber down." When my master annunciated this, the other members turned to each other and whisphered to themselves. Master Skywalker then held his hand and the others stopped.
"We will need further examinations of her gifts in the force before we can make an official decision if she is trainable or not. Even if she would be under your wing, Master Winsten, we will not be sure until the test is done. Until then," He said now looking at me, "enjoy your stay on Coruscant, my dear." With that, he smiled at me, I, on the other hand, looked at my master. He nodded to the others and ushered me back out of the chambers.
"I need to take a test?" I asked. "Yes, it will be difficult, but I believe you can pass it." He answered this with the same attitude as I heared when he spoke with Master Artemis. "So what now?" I looked at him with confusion and worry. "We get you ready for you test," He replied as he started to walk out of the room. "Isn't that cheating?" I asked back. "No, cheating would be giving you the answers. I myself have a test you have to take before I take you as my padawan." He replied back.
I stopped for a moment. "Did he say I was going to be his padawan?" I asked myself. Then I thought of all the wonderous things I'd learn and be able to do with him. Though, I did snap out of it when he called me about the turboshift door was closing. As we stood in the lowering turboshift, I could not but feel invigorated.
