The Baltimore Diaries-updated finally!
As I write this, I am sitting in the presidential suite of a swanky hotel in downtown Baltimore, looking out the window toward the inner harbor. Why am I telling you this? Because I know you're all INSANELY jealous! xd And it makes me laugh! twisted

I'm going to tell you what we've done here so far, just so you can all live through me. And who doesn't want to live through me? Let's face it, people, I'm awesome. You guys are so lucky... gosh. [/egotrip]

Haha! Okay, seriously.

We left Richmond yesterday evening at around 6:30-ish, and we drove for three hours until we got to Baltimore. Oh, wait! I have to tell you why we came in the first place. Yeah.

Uh...my dad got these totally sweet tickets to the Notre Dame-Navy game. Yeah, I know, Navy is in Annapolis, but they play this game at the Ravens stadium because they can fit more people in there when they attract a huge crowd. (And believe me, they do.) In addition to us, my godfather John, his brother, their nephew, and another family of three were going to come. The other family dropped out, though, and my mom also declined to come. So it's just me, Dad, Patrick, John, Frank (the brother), and Jim (the nephew). Yeah.

So, anyway. We got to Baltimore around nine-ish, after three excruciating car hours. We went up to our room and it was totally SWEET! Seriously! It's awesome!

Okay, if you go in through the presidential suite, there's the living room. Two couches and two chairs sit facing a tv that goes up and down inside a cabinet. To the left, there are four little armchairs around a coffee table, and a small, pretty bathroom, then there's the adjoining room where Patrick and I sleep. It has a bathroom with a shower-tub, two beds, another tv (doesn't go up and down), a desk, a small closet, and a coffee machine. On the right in the presidential sweet- excuse me, suite- there's a small kitchen with a some cabinets, two fridges, and a microwave, then there's a set of two stairs to an elevated area with a dining table and the door to Dad's room. I haven't really been in there much, so excuse me if I don't describe it for you.

We ordered a bit of room service- we had eaten a little soup at our house, but only a little, and we were still hungry. I took a shower, and when I got out the food was here. I had a kid's cheeseburger (the only other one was half a pound- excuse me!) and Dad and Patrick split a small pizza. We watched the end of the world series, then Patrick and I went off to our room, where we watched the end of Scary Movie 3, and then went to sleep.

This morning, I woke up at 7:30-ish. (Some of you will think this is a bit stupid, considering I was up until at least 11 last night, but I'm not the kind of person who sleeps in much. Only when I'm really pooped.) I watched a bit of TV, then Patrick and Dad got up and we got dressed. The restaurant downstairs was packed with other ND fans, so we wandered around forever and ever, trying to find a place to eat. We ended up contenting ourselves with Johnny Rockets (Eggs, bacon, 'home-style potatoes,' (essentially, they're like the illegitimate offspring of fries and tater tots.) and toast. >< wink

[Here Geri leaves for dinner and returns later]

Whoo.. where was I? Oh, yes, breakfast. Uhm...lesse....

After we ate our breakfast, we walked over to the Raven's stadium (Yes, walked. Our hotel is in a great location, and Baltimore is nice out right now. It's good, we never get any excercise.)

At the entrance to the stadium, the Navy folks were struttin' their stuff, and some of those Navy men were fiiiiiine....But I digress, in favor of a short summary of the game. We won. Duh. We've been beating them for...how many years now? A lot. At the end of the game, Notre Dame had 38, and Navy had 14. Ouch. Maybe next year, Navy men, maybe next year. Like hell. *snort*

Then we walked around the inner harbor, near the aquarium. (We're going there tomorrow.) We went into the Hard Rock Cafe (Believe it!) just long enough to buy me a shirt (it was packed so we couldn't walk around. stressed ). Right next to the HRC is a Barnes and Noble (which, to my chagrin, we didn't go into) and next to that is the ORIGINAL FIRST EVER ESPN ZONE!!!!!!!! Don't worry, I'm not going to get all 'men are idiots' on ya. I had a pretty good time. I've been to the ESPN Zone in Chicago, though that was slightly less fun, because..nevermind. It's girl stuff..you don't need to know. No, trust me. You don't want to. No. No. But yeah, ESPN Zones are awesome. Lots of sports games, like the one where you're on a fake jetski and you watch the screen and you lean to the left and you lean to the right and you crash anyway. It's awesome. We played air hockey, and a skiing game that was like the jetski game, but with skiing, and we played a couple different basketball games (I stunk at both. Patrick rocked at both.), and Patrick and I raced cars (not real cars. Think of the jetski. Now think of the jetski...as a steering wheel. Good.)

We walked back to the hotel and got ready to go for dinner. Now, Dad had told me that we were going to a very nice Italian restaurant...I'm afraid I overdressed a little. But oh well. A shuttle took us to and from the place, which was called Velleggio's. I ate some good tortellini stuffed with cheese in a dish with mushrooms, peas, and a nice mushroomy sauce. Then for dessert I had... I dunno, but it was tasty. It was like a chocolate cake, but different.

Now I'm back in the living room again. It's dark outside, and the neon lights by the aquarium and the Hard Rock Cafe are lit. Dad, John and Frank are watching the Tennessee-South Carolina game.

Well... I've done enough writing for awhile...at least until tomorrow. Then I'll tell you all about the other stuff we'll have done by then. So...goodnight for now. I'll finish it this time! And the Fripp Diaries! I will! (...well, those might take a little while, but they'll be good when I finish them. I've already written them, you know, it's just a pain in the arse to type them up, and I don't have my notebook with me.) Just trust me until then, okay?

[here Geri leaves for two months and comes back later]

Uh... yeah. sweatdrop I kept going 'Oh, yeah, I gotta go on Gaia and finish that thing....' and I'd be on Gaia for just long enough to reply to my buttloads of mail and then Mom would be all 'Get off the computer' and I'd be all... you get the picture. I haven't been on.

So, yeah. I'm gonna give you a pretty basic description of what happened on Sunday, because there's only so much I can remember after two months.

We woke up, I fiddled around on my laptop (the network at the hotel unblocked EVERYTHING!!! 4laugh Kinda like UltraServe, but not illegal) for awhile, and then we all went downstairs to eat breakfast. This time the restaurant wasn't packed (Thank God. Johnny Rockets is good for shakes, burgers, and grilled cheese. Breakfast...notsomuch Can you say 'crappy eggs?') and we got to eat at the buffet. Gooooood stuff. Scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage (links and patties eek ), more home-style potatoes (I politely declined. Are those a thing in Baltimore? I had never heard of them before that..), the noble crossaint, fruit (pineapple! 4laugh ), that kinda stuff. We ate our food and John, Frank, and Jim departed. We said our goodbyes and then walked over to the aquarium.

The aquarium... was awesome. Seriously. First we saw this little video thing about some river valley in Australia (much more interesting than I thought it would be) and went to the corresponding exhibit thingy, which was also pretty cool (I dunno if you guys know, but Geri lurves the reptiles-- Partly because of my brother's childhood crocodilian obsession (fyi, crocodilian refers to the family name, not only the crocodile. This means aligators, crocs, gharials, caimans, etc.) --and they had lots of 'em.). Then we started going into the ocean exhibit (Sharks! Woo! 4laugh ) but had to leave early because we wanted to go see the dolphin show. The dolphin show was awesome as well, but more informative than I wanted it to be. I mean, I came to see dolphins do cool tricks. I dun give a crap about the trusting relationship the trainers have with the dolphins, blablabla. It's cute, yeah, but if you go on about it for more than a minute, it gets dull. (Have you ever tried talking about something for sixty seconds without stopping? One thing. It's not easy, so you know they were really pushing it) But the tricks were pretty cool, like when they had the dolphin jump up twenty feet in the air and touch a buouy thingy. Schweet. Then we went back to the ocean exhibit, finished up there (Le Awesome! Sharks and rays are BEAST, and they had loads of 'em! And sea turtles! LOOOOOVE the sea turtles!) and went on to the final exhibit, the rainforest exhibit.

The cool thing (or rather, one of the cool things) about the Baltimore aquarium is that on the top floor, they have a greenhouse rainforest environment thing (complete with bats and monkeys blaugh ). You can see it all the way across the harbor. Unfortunately, during the day, like most greenhouses, it's really hot. Luckily, we were only in there for a short while.

After that, we went back to the hotel to shove our crap back into our bags and get the hell out [removed]emoticon(' whee ')before they kicked us out.

And... that's pretty much what happened. 3nodding

So.. yeah.

Oh, and before I go...

HA! I told you I'd finish it! Take that, bitches! whee

Ciao
Geri wink

Coolness!!! I hope you have fun on your trip, Geri, because so far it sounds totally awesome!

By the way, I reflected a little on something you said in my journal. I found it funny. If you're interested, I guess you can check it out. xd
