i read a comment on one of my pictures. it said:

"hmm. it looks like you need to improve a little."

and, from that picture, no doubt i needed to, for it was like, a year ago or something. but COME ON! you could AT LEAST tell me WHAT i needed to improve on for that pic. lazy bast...

another one:

"...but you need to color it"

oh sure. when EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE OTHER PICTURES IN THE ART ARENA are colored EXCEPT My SKETCHES, i will color them. but for now, i shall leave them be, for it DOES take QUITE a while for me to color them. (it depends, really, but i guess i am more of just too lazy)

i don't know, but i think the standard of art just went higher as soon as they put more gold for voting in the art arena in. before, my arts used to get at least 7's and those were old ones. now they are 6s and stuff.

i don't like the new "top 500" thing either. i mean, the top 10 was fun even though we mainly saw the regular fantabulous artists, but we could focus in on unknown artists whose art made their way to the top ten of that month. i understand the intention of the top 500, but after a while, it gets kinda scattered. when there were only ten, there was more of a drive to someday be featured in the TOP TEN, but now, i don't feel so inclined to post up my art anymore.

now, going back to putting in more gold to vote, i think it just attracted more gold-whoring noobs. i think that now the people (well most of the gold-whores) don't value how much work an artist puts in and just votes like BLAH. so it relates back to the low scores.

comments: yeah, yeah. many artists love to have their art commented, and i don't mind criticizing comments that much [because most of my pictures are old, and i don't feel like changing them]. when people simply say: "this picture sucks" or something like that, you must at least give a reason. or "haha funny" WHAT'S FUNNY? i didn't mean it to be funny, there's nothing in the description that is funny, so TELL ME!! scream

short comments, one word comments, comments that did not require much thought annoy me to a certain level sometimes. if it's positive, it's okay, you spent your time to tell me, but still... it kinda makes me iffy to some extent. otherwise, i just pass over it and read more interesting comments.

so i know most of comments and stuff haven't really changed since last time, although i think there are Much more Spam Comments... stare but, picture scores are down, the top 500 feels a bit disorganized to me, and thoughtless comments are noted.

i really miss the old art arena.
