Take my friend for instance. I still consider him a friend though he may not feel that way about me. He let this girl use him and cheat on him, because of whatever fantasized idea of making a 'real' relationship out of it. Now I'm not saying it's impossible, on the contrary I have a good friend irl that married her internet bf that lived halfway across the country. I wish them all the luck and hope it works, but it's RARE. My point is if you go around looking for it, it won't happen. It's the times you're NOT looking for it that make it real. When it starts out as friends, and turns into something more, when it's mutual. When there's enough in common but not too much. I don't know if he reads my journal, but if so I hope he doesn't get hurt by me saying so since he doesn't want me to pm him.
I just think it's silly to kick yourself over something that wasn't worth getting so worked up over in the first place. I'm still your friend, whether you want me to be or not, that's just how I am.
For everyone else, no I won't tell you who I'm talking about, and this person KNOWS who he is.
