She's the one you see day by day
Sitting by herself with her lunch tray
People never bother to notice she exists
Maybe that's why teachers forget she's on the student class list

With a heavy heart and broken dreams
She sulks into her music of horrid screams
Never once asking why her parrents rejected her

She kept at the top of the line
A's and B's and never once any C's
But as she started to slip into the wrong crowd
It made her feel like she belonged

So she skipped and played hookey
So what, who cares?
I'm a big girl now and no longer need to sleep with a teddy bear
Each and every day she came home
She was met with icy stares

She felt lost and alone
The tears she had stopped crying so many nights before
Came rushing down her pale face
So she pushed and she shoved
Just to get her own space
Her parrents would have never understood

They were too wrapped up in their own drama to pay attention
So she cut and she bled
Stopped eating and cut off the sleeping
Her only escape was her music
Besides the fact that her manga's took her away from reality

The skipping led to grounding
The grounding led to yelling
The yelling led to more drama

Till she couldn't take it anymore
Her grades had dropped sharply
Her attendence shown she was barely there
Her teachers gave her hell

So she bought a one way ticket out of the state
Waited by the bus stop
Standing in the pouring rain
Her tears had sprung alive
And her emotions tore at her

But as she hopped on that one way bus
She couldn't help but smile
Even though she would have a hard time out there on her own
She knew that she wouldn't have to deal with
Her parrents nor the lies
The drinking and not the drugs

She was strong enough to push through
She could get through this too
If it was anything that pushed her further
It was the strength she had regained
During the hard times she was suffercating in
