Gung Hae Phat Choi! It's the new year.... well, the Chinese New Year anyway. Today brings the year of the Pig. Pigs are tolerant and patient, and it's said that they are lucky in life. Pigs are of course smart and usually turn out to be good writers. Three cycles of this year are 2k7, 1995 and 1983, so if you know anyone born in those years, they are (according to the Chinese Zodiac) under the Pig's sign. When this year is over, the next year of the Pig will happen in 2019.
To the people who celebrate this year, I hope the festivities were to your liking. Usually on this day, little red envelops are given out, which of course have money in them. How much money did you get in your envelope? One thing to know about this sign, the Pig, is that it is the last sign of the zodiac. Next year, the cycle of the Zodiac begins anew with the first sign, the Rat. Also, after seeing Curse of the Golden Flower, that not only does each animal have a specific year, but also a specific hour in the day. The Hour of the Pig is 11, so if you were born on a Pig year at 11, it truly is your time. Congrats to you.
So what did you do on New Years, today? Mine started out bad, but turned out okay. After a spicy meal (Lemongrass Shrimp over rice to be exact =9 ), I managed to see my brother Madd, and later on, we went to see Ghost Rider at the theatres. Good s**t, that movie is for those of you who haven't seen it, you'll love the effects in it. Actually, I've just come back from seeing that movie, it's 2 hours long. All and all, it's been a good day. To any Pigs out there who are reading this, I have a bit of advice for you. If you can remember what you did wrong on the last year of the Pig (12 years ago, as it's a full cycle), you'll know exactly how to keep from having a bad year.
Happy New Year
