Blaze had eventually caught up with Silver. They then reached the location of Iblis. At first, nothing seemed to be happening. Suddenly, before their eyes, a fiery, towering being emerged from the lava below. The creature was Iblis. The Iblis screeched at the sight of them. Silver and Blaze backed away, but Silver taunted at it.
"Come on, you monster!" he shouted, and it began. The Iblis screeched again, and that gave Silver and Blaze their chance. Quickly, Silver flew towards it's face and distracted it. Blaze, however, ran back and climbed to the top of a building. She ran quickly, and swiftly jumped onto the Iblis's head. Iblis then swung it's arms at Blaze. She dodged quickly, though, so Iblis missed most of his swings. Using is telekenetic abilities, Silver picked up a boulder, and many other objects, and swatted them at the monster's head. The creature backed away, losing the dark pieces of rock it used as armor. Silver stared at it. Blaze was already back onto the ground, and Silver soon floated down next to her. The creature sunk back, and that was it.
"Looks like we stopped it for now," Blaze commented. Silver shook his head.
"But it'll just rise up from it's ashes again." He punched an odd shaped pillar next to him. "What's the point of all this?" he asked himself. "It'll never end."
"Calm down, Silver," Blaze said trying to sooth her friend's anger. Silver shook his head and closed his eyes.
"Then tell me what should we do. How can we completely destroy Iblis?"
There was a moment of silence as Blaze turned away from Silver. She closed her eyes. Suddenly, a voice from behind Silver came. A deep, mysterious voice.
"By knowing the truth, of course."
Silver opened his eyes, and both Silver and Blaze turned around, and looked up. A black hedgehog was there. He has no mouth, and gray eyes. There were also weird shapes that were on his spines that were also gray. He was standing atop a pillar.
"Just as a flower comes from a seed," he went on. "or a chicken comes from an egg, everything has an origin." He held his hands up in the air, and moved them around as he spoke.
"You need to find the being originally responsible for this catastrophe."
Silver quickly replied to the stranger. "Is that really the answer to our problem?" Then, a thought came to him. "Tell me, do you know who it is?"
The hedgehog on the pillar looked at Silver very slowly. The black hedgehog didn't reply, but Silver and Blaze both knew that he would help them.
